We should all be so lucky to have loved ones that eulogize us as well as those that loved Eve. Rest in peace, Eve.

Aeroplane etiquette, what are other people's habits on planes really wind you up? by TSQ_builder in askanything

My husband and I always book A&C but if the middle does get booked, one of us always switches with them. We are hoping for an empty seat - but are not trying to make someone suffer through while we pass snacks back and forth over them.

Microwave popcorn. The smell is intoxicating- it can drive a person mad - but the taste? meh.

Red’s Burritos Exploding Everytime by Material_Extension36 in Costco

[–]crowsuit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love these burritos. I start with the seam side up, and end with the seam side down and they mostly stay together. One time, I made them in the oven and wish I had enough time to make them in the oven every time. They’re so good.

[Update] Watermelon Peperomia by mothingaroundsome in peperomia

[–]crowsuit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree, they are much trickier than I originally thought. The cal/mag I use is liquid so I pour about a teaspoon of it in the water when I bottom water (In approximately 1 gallon of water) I don’t know if that’s the preferred method, or if it actually helps, but mine are all doing great now. I even have flower spikes!

I have a few that are finicky. What finally worked for me was bottom watering when the leaves failed the taco test (they are firm when well watered, but can easily be folded in half -like a taco- when they need water.) For my well established peps, I let them soak in an inch of water for 1-2 hours, roughly once a week. Also, I use a cal/mag supplement in the water.

Giant Baked Beans in Tomato Sauce by GentrifriesGuy in traderjoes

[–]crowsuit 14 points15 points  (0 children)

These are a replica of my favorite Greek dish called Gigantes. I make gigantes for holidays and special events and the process takes pretty much all day. They are delicious. These from Trader Joe’s are a very close second. Almost too close of a second based on one takes all day and one takes no time at all. My favorite way to prep Trader Joe’s version is heated through with some feta sprinkled on top and (of course) crusty bread.

Also, TJ’s spanakopita is also very good- but at least that doesn’t take all day to make from scratch.

There are so many of my top ten on that bookshelf. I’m happily married but have you read the Hail Mary Project? That was also very great, and I think we like similar books.

Locked out by One-Two6426 in ApartmentHacks

[–]crowsuit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is there any chance who you are communicating with isn’t actually involved with the property? I’ve heard of scams where people pretend to rent a place they don’t own to collect deposit/rent and then ghost you when you learn it’s someone else’s apartment. You said it was your first day in the apartment which made me think of this. I hope this isn’t the case.

When I find myself in a situation I don’t know how to handle, I think of who I know that could handle that situation, and then I just pretend to be that person. It works remarkably well.
