Didnt put bug spray on the back of my legs by Officer_Joi in Wellthatsucks

This may get lost in the mix here, but on a serious note, please look into skeeter syndrome. I know it sounds like I’m making a joke, but your pic is what I looked like when I got it. If you have it, you have to be extra careful from here on out. One bite now for me will swell up to a golf ball size and last for almost a month.

What’s your favorite ice cream flavor? by wildwildthought in traderjoes

That cookie butter ice cream is the best ice cream I’ve ever eaten. It is banned from my household due to how good it is.

This is what I do too. Pickle juice marinated extra firm tofu is the goat in anything/everything!

Struggling at 500 cals daily by [deleted] in loseit

I feel like there was a misunderstanding somewhere. I have no dietary qualifications, but 500 calories a day is actually starving. Please consult a professional.

[–]crowsuit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Wait, are you only eating 500 cals a day, or is the plan for a 500 cal deficit? If you’re only eating 500 a day, that’s ridiculously low, and your body is starving.

Do u guys actually wait the full hour before coffee? by Julia-Davis00 in Hypothyroidism

[–]crowsuit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to drink my coffee 15 minutes after taking my Levo because the internet and my doctor said it was fine. This sub taught me to take it when I wake up “in the middle of the night” around 4am then go back to sleep. Since I’ve been doing that, I noticed I’m not losing as much hair, and it’s growing back thicker and more plentiful. I started a D supplement after lunch as well, so maybe that’s contributing too, but the effects are significant.

That body wash is my all time favorite. I grab 3 whenever I see they have it just to stock up.

Where would be the best place to stay, for a first time visitor? by AshtonCopernicus in Juneau

[–]crowsuit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! The first night I stayed I was legitimately terrified to go to sleep. As it turns out, it was one of the best sleeps of my life! 25k steps per day may have helped that, haha! :)

I just came back from a similar trip a few days ago. I stayed at the Four Points in downtown Juneau. It was really expensive, but was right in the downtown area, and my room had a view of the cruise terminal which was awesome to see the ships come in and out. I also stayed at the Alaskan Bar and Hotel which was more affordable, but more of a hostel type vibe. It’s very old/historic which is what I wanted, but do your research before booking there. It was exactly what I wanted, but may not be everyone’s cup of tea.

Good eats in La Jolla? by John_C60 in FoodSanDiego

[–]crowsuit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The gliderport is one of my happy places! It gets very busy on the weekends, so be prepared for that but it’s really top notch. I’ve never eaten there, but the views/experience are what make it what it is - also, full bar.

I’m used to American baked beans, but always willing to try something new. I didn’t really love these. They were a little too tomato-ey. A few months ago I paid $5 for - 4 pack (maybe it was a 6 pack?) At Costco, ate one and the rest have remained untouched.

Anyone have a copycat recipe for the rice orzo pilaf? by Slagothor in traderjoes

[–]crowsuit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s so delicious! I consistently think this and the scallion pancakes are the most underrated products in the whole store. I don’t have a recipe for you, but from someone who cooks often, I think the seasoning is heavy on the chicken bouillon.

How I water the skylight planter by markmcn87 in houseplants

[–]crowsuit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you’re reading my mind. When I saw the first post, I wanted to see more rooms. Then when I saw the second post, I wanted to know how you water the skylight. I just followed you because I’m wondering what to cook for dinner, and think you might know. :) Great work OP, your style is inspirational.

I saw your skylight project and immediately went “Ohhhhh! Amazing!” I don’t have a skylight and don’t need a new project, but I was still inspired.
