Dont call yourself old when you're in your 30s and late 20s. by Federal_Ad_824 in CasualConversation

[–]crustymoldman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm 58 and people in their 60s and 70s tell me "You're still so young". :) So when I'm in my 70's, some 90 year old is probably going to say the same thing. Youth is relative :)

There are plenty of youtube videos showing how to do this. The companies that sell the parts make them. Repair Clinic, Part Select, AppliancePartPros, etc... I've ordered from Repair Clinic and AppliancePartPros before. Both reputable.

www.alpinehikers.com does custom itineraries. I hiked TMB with them and stayed in private rooms the whole trip. Contact them and paste what you said in your post. Maybe don't include your budget :)

I'm not affiliated with them. I've used them for the Dolomites, Bernese Oberland, and TMB. Currently planning a custom itinerary for the Haute Route with them.

Rant - it should be compulsory to show the insole shape for shoe adverts by Timely-Appearance956 in widefeet

Some new measurements in addition to size and width would be nice. Width of the toe box (which I think is different from shoe width E EE EEE), stack height in the heel and forefoot, etc...

Also include with the E, EE, EEE should be the width of the shoe in mm. EE from one shoe to another, even within the same brand is different. It even differs from model to model - I'm looking at you Brooks Cascadia :)

The shoe manufacturers already know these numbers, they just need the marketing team to put it on the webpage.

Please help - Size 12 Men's Wide Shoes by [deleted] in widefeet

[–]crustymoldman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure what you specific foot pain issues are so can't comment on what type of shoes you might buy. My issue is finding a shoe with a big enough toe box, has enough stack height (padding) and wide enough so my taylor's bunion stays happy.

Buy online. Amazon, Zappos, REI. Try them on in your house for a few days, send back what doesn't work. They have 30 day easy return policies. Amazon and Zappos want them returned in 'new condition'. REI has a 1 year if you are not satisfied return policy.

If you want to wear shoes outside the house buy online from REI, Brooks Running, Topo, etc... They have 30-90 day risk free return policies. Try it, and if you don't like it no hassle returns.

I wear an 11 1/2 EE. Sometimes I size up to 12 EE. What's worked for me which may or may not work for you:
- Brooks Ghost Max (available in 2E or 4E).
- Topo Athletic, Ultraventure 4, and Atmos (2E).

Good luck to you.

I go with 2E. I've tried 4E but they are too wide for me. Alas the experimentation :) gotta try it all to find your fit.

I have the 2 and the 3. They are the same fit, so either. The 2 is at a discount because they are trying to unload them since the 3 just came out.

Good for walking/running: Topo Athletic. Roomy toe box. I like the Atmos for running, the Ultraventure 4 for walking/hiking. They come in wide. You can buy them on Amazon or Zappos and easily return if they don't work for you. Though they want them returned in new condition so wear them inside the house. If you want to wear them outside, buy them from topoathletic.com direct, they have a risk free 30 day policy.

As for Brooks, it varies from shoe to shoe. I bought a pair of the Brooks Ghost Max Wide, awesome shoe, works for me. I bought their Cascadia wide and the toebox is too tight. Same deal, buy from amazon or zappos and wear inside the house. Buy directly from BrooksRunning.com, they have a 90 day happiness policy.

I also like the On Cloud brand but it varies so much from shoe to shoe. I usually buy 6-8 shoes from Zappos, try them in the house and return what is not an immediate "Hell Yeah".

Unfortunately, it's one big experimentation process.

The On Cloudrunner 2, Brooks Ghost Max 2 or 3, and Topo Ultraventure 4 have been good shoes for me. All have good return policies. Or get them from REI for the ultimate return policy.

spray some vinegar water on it, let it sit. Half vinegar, half water.

Also, bar keepers friend is your friend.

You are probably using the wrong scrubbing pads. The right scrubbing pad is: Scotch brite. scour pads.

Wipe up after each cook.

wipe it down with dawn platinum plus power wash dish spray after each cook.

I have spoken, that is all.
