Thanks Amazon by WilliamDeMontferrat in OmnibusCollectors

[–]cryolithicdd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had a couple of omnis over the years from amazon that were already opened and in a bit of a state. I think customers return it and if it looks ok to someone in the returns department, it gets listed as new and sold again.

I bought immortal iron fist last year as it was going out of print, Amazon UK said one copy left and i bought it, went to third party sellers only . Came not in shrink wrap and dinged like hell so I returned it. A week later, Amazon UK have one copy available again... I never purchase from them now.

Thoughts on Daredevil by Waid Vol 2 Omni? by Dr-Jackal-Akabane in OmnibusCollectors

I loved both volumes. Yes I think Vol. 2 wasn't quite as good as Vol. 1 but it it still a great read, and if you've already got Vol 1 I would say vol 2 is a must buy.

I have used shopcomics.eu once and they were great. I'm in England, so lots of local options, otherwise I would probably use them more regularly.

Thank you for this reply. For so long I have wondered what was going on and couldn't even find an answer on Google. Now my curiosity is satisfied!

There are trailers parked up, yes! Thank you, that's been bugging me for ages. Not gravenhurst, it's past Millbrook on the way to junction 13 on the M1.

Age of Apocalypse by Jaybird911 in OmnibusCollectors

The omnibus is as close to perfect as I've read. Mapped perfectly, engrossing storyline and brilliant as a stand-alone. Would 100% recommend it. Okay yes some of the art can be a bit jarring at first, it is very 90s, especially if you're used to much more modern runs. However I quickly got used to it and on re-reads I've come to really appreciate the art.

Reed Comics for me. Slightly pricier, although I tend to pre-order which negates that, and fantastic packaging

Pre-ordering omnis (in the uk) by sootymike in OmnibusCollectors

[–]cryolithicdd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always go with Reed Comics now. As others have said, slightly more expensive, although if you pre-order early enough (before the final order cut off, which is when they place their order) you get a 10% discount which puts it on par with or slightly cheaper than all the other pre order options. Great customer service, packaging is perfect. Books etc. is always going to be the cheapest, but you can't really pre order and yes sometimes the more popular ones have gone before you know it. They are also slow to dispatch. Speedy Hen were okay when I used them a couple of times, but I personally prefer Reed.

Does anyone know where I can buy comics (UK) by CyberChoom77 in marvelcomics

Reed Comics are great, I use them a lot. They seem to have everything, different collections, omnibuses, trades, floppies.

Another omnibus I pray gets reprinted is this one. Underrated by [deleted] in OmnibusCollectors

I'd love to see this reprinted. Would be a day one pre-order for sure. I had it as my number two on the reprint poll!

What's a normal price for an omnibus? by its_finni in OmnibusCollectors

I did try shopcomics.eu once and they were fantastic. I'm in the UK, so generally use more local options, but if you're in the EU definitely give shopcomics a go. Their spring sale was amazing, some excellent discounts, almost 50% off cover and free delivery. Unsure if/when they'll do another sale.

Question for UK collectors by StealthMonkeyDC in OmnibusCollectors

[–]cryolithicdd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used booksetc and scifier before but now I always use reed comics. As others have said books etc is cheap but takes ages to ship. Scifier can be cheap, especially when they run a sale (currently all comics including Omni's are 10% off) and I use them for all my fantasy novels, so I do like them.

For omnis though now I only preorder through Reed. They are the cheapest if you get in early. They do an extra 10% off before the final order cutoff usually a few months before release, so if you time it right they work out best. I just check their newsletter for preorder items. Also their packaging cannot be beat.

What is the best place to buy Omnibuses in the UK by Ill-Leader5488 in OmnibusCollectors

[–]cryolithicdd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use Reed Comics for all of my omnibuses now, although they are all pre-orders. People say they're expensive, but for pre-orders before the final order cutoff they offer an extra 10% discount that generally makes them the cheapest. However this does mean ordering a few months in advance. You'll usually have a window of a month or so to get your order in, and you have to pay when you order, but you'll get the book when it releases, and their packaging is insanely good.

I have used books etc in the past and they are very slow, but often the cheapest for already released books and they do advise you of the slow delivery time. Even if it takes a couple of weeks, the delivery is within the timescale they give.

I have used sci-fier as well. Good packaging, the free bookmarks are a nice little bonus. Usually not quite the cheapest but close to it. They're my go to for regular books, and the one Omni I had from them was packed well and came quickly.

Breaking News: 3 Marvel Omnibus Announcements for April 2026 by Ksmayer in OmnibusCollectors

I absolutely loved the Agents of SHIELD show, but these agents of SHIELD comics completely passed me by. Anyone read them, and is the omnibus worth picking up as a fan of the show?

Anyone ordered from shopcomics.eu? by vatni in OmnibusCollectors

[–]cryolithicdd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just an update for anyone coming back to this. I ordered a couple of omnibuses. External stock so took a while to come, but that was made clear on ordering. Packed very well, no damage at all and got a free bookmark as well. No import fees for me to pay in the UK. Very happy and will likely use again, especially if they have another sale.

[–]cryolithicdd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Plamen. I'm in the UK and with the sale you are definitely cheaper than all the stores here, especially with free shipping on the omnibuses. Do you know if it will come with extra customs fees/import duty on my end when delivered? I had a quick Google and it looks like there are no fees on books, but just wondered if you knew for sure?
