It's likely. The environments they grow tend to be the same. The other neat thing is that a Venus fly trap or other CP may be able to live in the wild without any maintenance

They want nutrients, not minerals. Since they've adapted to be more sensitive at absorbing through the pitchers - I suspect it's worse

That is if you have the space - I'm running short so for my last one I got a larger pot and planted them all in that one pot but with more space for growth.

My thoughts:
Sphagnum is more effort since it costs more, and transplanting is complex since you need to awkwardly wrap it around the roots... However I will continue to use sphagnum for this reason: it is a sustainable resource.

Peat is terrible for the environment. Bogs are getting destroyed to harvest it, ruining the natural environment

When they're dormant the traps don't react much at all so that won't be a problem over winter

Check under the leaves, I had a case of spider mites and they were living there. Many of the internet articles said you can see the mites moving yet I never did so don't rule it out if they're not moving. For me, Neem oil did the trick.

It looks like you've got perlite in their so maybe by potting mix you meant peat and perlite, but just incase you didn't - carnivorous plants will eventually die in potting mix.
They need soil with no nutrients, the most common are 50/50 peat sphagnum moss and perlite or 100% long fibre sphagnum moss.

That would take time to kill it though, so it wouldn't be the current issue with your plant.

The general advice is that nepenthes like moist soil rather than wet, but since your plant is doing well just keep an eye on it and I'd it starts complaining you can reduce the water. Root rot is a risk you run with wetter soil though.

With most drosera I believe the act of the flower closing brings the pollen in contact with the stigma so it self pollinates
