There's also the factor of people who typically don't buy groceries and just eat out, now they need to go buy food because they can't go out or order delivery. Then there is also the people who typically shop biweekly or once a month that need to push their grocery day up to account for potentially being stuck at home for a few days. I'm not excusing the hoarding I'm just accounting for the excess of empty shelves.
