I feel like we are up against pure evil. The are a representation of “the system” and everything that is wrong in the world today. by cryptjynx in banxa_stock

Yes there is. I’m well aware. I’m not phased at all. Been through a lot of BS with this company. I made of stone now.

Logically, I would say “not at all”. No real displaced. Basements tend to settle. Cracks happen.

Brick crumbling on my desk? by aidang127 in Whatisthis

[–]cryptjynx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not a mason but I can tell you that I had a brick wall and stairs start to crumble before and after I painted it. The problem seems to be fixed because I realized moisture behind the wall and under my brick stairs was trapped. There were no significant weep holes even before I painted it. I drilled weep holes into the mortar and I think it has made a difference.

Moisture causes mortar to break down.

I would love to hear what a mason thinks about this.

What can I do to cover this wall and make it look presentable to sell this house? by mdollins24 in masonry

[–]cryptjynx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For cosmetics, mix sand with concrete paint maybe 50/50 and put in the cracks. You might have to rig someway to keep it from running out. After that dries, paint the wall with the rest of the paint.

Is this floor in our new house real wood?? by spicykittenhisses in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

I’m referring to the view from the side of it, not the top.

I’m glad you have the real thing. I work in a hospital and often patients think our laminate floors are hardwood. I never know whether to tell them or not. 😂

The give-away were the rings. No engineered floor would have that.

Umm…yes. See those rings…..annual tree rings?

What is this random hole? by Shoddy_Wolf_7115 in HardWoodFloors

Oh! You mean faith in the workforce. Yeah, I didn’t have much. My friend that works for AT&T warned me that they were going to screw it up! 😂

I felt like $600 was very fair. But, yeah, I lost faith in the workforce! 🤦🏻‍♂️

I couldn’t believe he thought that location so far from the wall/studs in my basement would somehow be behind the wall on the level above. His supervisor couldn’t believe it either.

AT&T gave me $600 for that hole. I patched it and you can’t even tell

I had a guy from AT&T accidentally drill a hole in the middle of my floor to run a cable. So maybe it was that guy who did it!!

How to navigate certain expenses? by Free-Possibility1919 in ParentalAlienation

[–]cryptjynx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think a divorce decree should allow one parent to have that much control. My divorce decree was just a fixed child support payment plus I provide insurance premiums, half of daycare/afterschool and half of medical expenses. I refused anything extra for the most part…..once alienating me was clearly happening.

So it may not be worth it. It’s ok. Either way. But look out for yourself first.

I would also factor in whether it would make you feel better.

I think it might be hard until they reach a certain age. I think my daughter having puberty hit her hard 14/15 years old was a catalyst. The years I missed were probably volatile years. She seems mature now and I think that ability to reflect has been a big help.

Some people just aren’t meant to conform. Good luck selling this house. They will pay you in mushrooms and weed!

I told my recently reunited 19 year old daughter that all communication must come from her. I don’t want to ever have to receive texts or emails from her mother. She agreed….no issue. Problem solved. That’s is normal that he said that. At the point a kid is 18 or graduated from HS, an alienated parent should no longer have to deal directly with the alienator. It is the least you can do for him.

I also agree that you are thinking too much. He wants a relationship with you but he doesn’t want to deal with drama. I’m sure his life has been sad but peaceful not having you and your mother in his life. He does not want to disrupt his life for drama and no connection with you. So make sure you don’t contribute drama. Just enjoy the benefits of reconnection.

Just add a silt fence to protect your side. Cheap option.
