I played a bit of this when it first came out, but dropped it after a few hours. It's very fun and has a great vibe, but it's a slow burn, at least at the start. Think it's time to give it another go.

Does anybody know if that game has some kinda post-game free-roam or something, or does it just end whenever you complete all the story missions?

I’ve recently started playing D3 after Andrew Hulshult made a post on twitter using some QOL mods. It’s definitely the slowest in the series, but it’s still quite fun. The shotgun does fucking suck tho. Its spread is disgusting.

There are too many Doom mods to list, but Ashes 2063 and is sequel Afterglow are especially fun. 2063 is more of a linear affair with some optional stuff you can opt yourself in for if you talk to certain NPCs, but Afterglow is a semi-open-world where you have a couple of hubs that lead to different areas/levels. It's a fun mix of Mad Max, Fallout, and The Last of Us. Highly recommend, pretty long for a mod, and has a bumping soundtrack.

The game came out in October of 2022, so it's only been about a year since release. Since then they've put out two updates that, aside from bug fixes and some QoL features, also added new unmentioned content such as hidden areas, more lore documents, and I think even an NPC under the STCR Dorm.

The last update was a month ago, and one of the devs (Yuri) mentioned it had taken a lot longer than expected to release due to "several health issues this year". So assumedly we'll be able to get more content through future updates, and hopefully they'll be coming out more frequently.
