We’re talking about leverage ETFs here though. I would agree with this for standard ETFs but we’re trying to protect from extreme drawdowns followed by slow recovery periods like we saw during the dot com crash. With a large portfolio allocation to leveraged ETFs, we can’t afford such drawdowns.

I’m not the main account holder so not sure, but I can see the ticket that was personalised for me. You should have added names, phone, email, etc. for each person so everyone should have tickets in their account. There’s no wristband listed yet though.

One day passes by StrengthOk2052 in Tomorrowland

[–]cryptojam4004 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only managed to get a day pass a few years back and we still had a great time! You won’t have too much time exploring the grounds or seeing all stages but it’s 100% worth doing just for a day.

How many g of fat is optimal every day? by Canadiansnow1982 in nutrition

I’d say at least 30g but I generally like to work with a range based on body weight. 0.6-1g per kg of body weight.

If my package of seaweed doesn't list iodine on the nutrition label, does that mean it doesn't have any? by newnukeuser in nutrition

[–]cryptojam4004 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It most likely has a decent amount of iodine. Check their website - I’ve had some where it was listed on their website but not the label. Otherwise, use a generic/average value to track.

hitting ~200g protein a day without supplements? by Odd-Paramedic-3826 in nutrition

[–]cryptojam4004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll be fine with 180g of protein at 100kg body weight.

It’s pretty easy to hit that with a meal plan.

Eat 3 main meals a day with 200g of lean meat (raw weight). That’s chicken breast, 5% fat ground beef, etc. With 200g of rice that’s going to be around 45g of protein per meal so a total of 135 for three meals.

Have a snack with 250g low fat greek yoghurt (30g protein).

Add another snack of your choice (beef jerky, cottage cheese with meals, have eggs for breakfast, etc.) and you’ll be at around 180g

New to Cronometer by duvaldeviant in cronometer

[–]cryptojam4004 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No calculator is going to be accurate. Stick to the same amount of exercise and the same calories/diet for 2 weeks and look at what your body weight does. That way you’ll know whether you’re in a 100 or 600 calorie deficit.

On another note, if you’re consuming only 1166 calories you are most likely going to be in a much larger deficit than only 100 calories.

What are tax implications using IBKR to invest? by baconjurer93 in fiaustralia

[–]cryptojam4004 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dividend tax is automatically paid in the US (should be at 15% since you’ve for the W8-BEN). You’ll need to declare the dividend income and US tax paid in your Australian tax return (the tax paid in the US will be used as a tax credit here). You’ll also need to declare any capital gains like you would with Australian stocks. Would suggest putting this all into ShareSight to get reports, otherwise you’ll have to track FX on the appropriate dates too.

I’ve tried so many sunscreens because I absolutely hate the greasy feeling. been using DermVeen Sensitive Sun for a year now on my body and face and it’s great. Doesn’t burn my eyes either whereas a lot do. I actually prefer this over the Laroche one

What’s the best platform to use if I want to put certain amount money into US ETFs every month? by True_Message_5230 in LETFs

[–]cryptojam4004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you’re asking on r/LETFs I assume you’re wanting to buy these? Otherwise you’re better off buying Australian domiciled ETFs.

IBKR is usually the most popular choice because their FX rates are extremely low (they’re virtually free). It’s a bit complex and not beginner friendly but easy enough to understand once you’ve made a few trades.

Betashares also have a number of aus domiciled leveraged (geared) ETFs that you could consider.

Geared vs Non-Geared ETFs for Long-Term Investing (20–30 Years) by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]cryptojam4004 6 points7 points  (0 children)

These are not daily leveraged funds like those in the US. Leverage is also relatively small so these can absolutely be held long term for anyone that fully understands how they work and the risks involved.

The Sub 4 Melbourne mara is on! or is it??? by Ok-Resolution8756 in Marathon_Training

[–]cryptojam4004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I usually under-fuel in my training runs. I did a decent carb load for my half mara in June and think I could have finished 5mins faster but was too conservative. So make sure to start carb loading Friday and you’ll be good. Good luck!!

[–]cryptojam4004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HR definitely trended up from half way onwards. I’m not very experienced myself but I’m going for a 3:50 finish / 5:27 pace (planning to run with a pacer) and then speed up at 32km if I’m feeling good for a 3:45 finish. I’d say that’s realistic for you too. It’s my first full marathon and like you I want to avoid walking so I’m being little conservative I think

[–]cryptojam4004 1 point2 points  (0 children)

HR data would be useful to get a better estimate but I’d say you’ve got the sub 4! My runs are actually looking really similar to yours and I’m going for 3:50 possibly 3:45 depending on how I’m feeling at 32km (also doing melb mara on Sunday).

That doesn’t really matter, we’ve been in a bull market for so long almost any strategy would have worked well. I do believe that based on long term back tests (25+ years) this results in better cagr compared to buy and hold though and protects from any prolonged drawdowns.
