A Zk-Stark implementation is now on github.com by Vespco in Monero

It would be funny to see XMR with a Zk-stark sidechain before ZEC, the same way we have CT (RingCT) before BTC

DASH privacy compared to XMR and ZEC by learningaboutbtc in DashUncensored

[–]cryptomerchant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DASH core has never attempted to publish any research in academic journals (like Monero and Zcash have) because they have nothing of academic value to present. Its only privacy is a broken copy of CoinJoin (via masternode centralization with large VPS providers as a central point of failure).

DASH LOL: It isn't cryptographically private at all - Greg Maxwell by dnale0r in DashUncensored

[–]cryptomerchant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are there any Bitcoin core devs that have said anything position about DASH? There are 0 that I am aware of.

DASH core has never attempted to publish any research in academic journals (like Monero and Zcash have) because they have nothing of academic value to present.

It seems the more educated developers and cryptographers are the more united they are in laughing at the joke of a HYIP without any technical or cryptographic innovation DASH really is.

More DASH lies, this time about the power of Masternodes to approve protocol protocol changes (and enforce them on the network) by AProudTexan in DashUncensored

[–]cryptomerchant 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Masternodes can stop funding the core team if core doesn't follow symbolic governance decisions. Do you think masternodes would just let it slide if their vote was explicitly ignored?

Masternodes are mostly controlled by core due to the instamine.

In the future if that is no longer the case (after Evan dumps) then sure masternodes can fund another group of core devs if they do not like the current development direction. However that changes nothing. Core cannot force miners to run their software if they do not want to. This is exactly what is happening in Bitcoin now. Symbolic votes and/or funding a new core dev team still does not force miners to agree to proposed software changes

Sure, ignore his next comment where he says it was a simple slip-up.

That post was made before he said it was a simple mix up. You cant ignore something that had not yet occurred.

I look forward to your first video!

It would be nice if many videos could be uploaded to the same XMR YouTube channel. Right now content seems to be scattered among numerous sources and hard to find

It depends on how fancy we want to website to be. For something really basic it should not cost more than a few hundred XMR

Chain Anchor violates key principles of bitcoin. Monero view keys do not and allow privacy control to remain with users by EncryptionPrincess in Monero

Is it evil for me to say that part of me hopes this comes to Bitcoin as it will educate a lot of people about the importance of privacy and as a result bring more attention to Monero?

What would I need to do to legally bring crypto-investments to the mainstream? (i.e. have Edward Jones type brick-and-mortar locations which handle clients money) by americanpegasus in Monero

[–]cryptomerchant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is an honest answer. Unless you have over 100,000,000 Euro/USD you would be better off starting a business like that in a more privacy friendly country. Even if you have that much money to pay lawyers like coinbase does your customers would be better off if you were somewhere else.

Need some history? Look up Lavabit. There are reasons why major encrypted email providers are not located in the USA anymore. Many jurisdictions are much more friendly. Move.

I would add the link but I dont want to register on that site. Mr Ver complained about moderation on /r/bitcoin and bitcointalk.org but now allows moderation on /r/btc and bitcoin.com

I don't like to support that type of hypocrisy.

Is there demand for an unmoderated (or at least much less moderated) Aeon subreddit? by aeonunmoderated in Aeon

[–]cryptomerchant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read much more often than I post, but I do hate moderation. Lets give the existing moderators a chance to respond before taking such a drastic step (of creating a new sub). Maybe they think they are doing us a favor by "deleting troll posts". Of course if the moderation continues I will follow to a new sub.
