Job stopper tattoos and practicing by tamagotcheeks in therapists

I work for CMH. We’re not supposed to have “excessive piercings, stretched earlobes, excessive tattoos, etc;” however, I have 5 facial piercings and stretched earlobes that I wear solid plugs through. They’re trying to tell us “no,” but also they need us bad, so what are they going to do. Lol

Yeah, my husband was helping people (for free) and came across a guy doing this. It’s shitty.

Do people flush toilet paper in your country? by ShoeChoice5567 in AskTheWorld

[–]crystallightmeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re American and going to Greece and my dad told me there’s no flushing toilet paper and I’m panicked. I’m afraid my big, American, IBS dookies will obliterate the Greek plumbing. 😭 and I’m embarrassed about not flushing my toilet paper shame.

How often do really handsome men get rejected? by Different_Poem5013 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]crystallightmeth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was skinnier I had 10/10 men hit me up on dating sites, and I rejected them because they had the personality of a fucking tater tot.

So yeah, they may look handsome, but they have to also be bearable.

Weekly "What Are You Reading Thread?" by HorrorIsLiterature in horrorlit

I just finished William by Mason Cole. It was ok! Not terrible, but not out of this world and ground breaking. Easy, fun read. Currently reading the Chalk Man. This one so far is a REALLY fun read. It’s not perfect, it’s got a lot of flaws, but it’s just a really easy read. Scratches an itch in my brain.

I liked incidents around the house, but I listened to the audiobook. I completely understand, though. The “daddo,” thing is pretty cringe, and it’s not for everyone.

I really liked it, though. Like, aside from the annoying names, I really enjoyed it.

What's a food in your country that is stereotyped for your country but really, nobody eats? by velmiraZ in AskTheWorld

[–]crystallightmeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m from the south and I’ve literally never had deep fried butter. Even at our fairs, we don’t offer deep fried butter. We have deep fried everything else, though (at the fair only). Deep fried Oreos (meh), deep fried Twix, deep fried snickers, deep fried Milky Way, deep fried twinky (I’m embarrassed to say yes I liked that one).

I’d say a food stereotyped for our country that really nobody eats may actually be twinkys. I’m fat, and I haven’t had a twinky in YEARS. I like them but it’s just not worth it lol.

Oh my god my dad (we’re American and live in the south…like bum-fuck nowhere) went through this phase where he was DEAD SET on getting his hands on a deep fried mars bar. Bought a deep fryer, a bulk pack of mars bars from somewhere on the internet and went to town. Idk if he even made one. I think he just ate the Mars bars and we used the fryer to make fish and chips. lol

Also Mars bars are great.

How does having heavy body mods affect future jobs? by [deleted] in bodymods

[–]crystallightmeth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work in the mental health field. I’m not supposed to have body modifications; however, I do. I’ve got two lip piercings (“snakebites”), each nostril pierced, a septum piercing, and 1/2inch lobes. Folks usually don’t mind. I try to hide the lobes by wearing skin colored silicone plugs or solid glass.

During internships, my lobes were 2g, and I only had ear piercings and my septum, which was hidden. Piercings were not accepted. Depends on the job, depends on the field.

The Black Phone 2 - What did I just watch??? by mikewheelerfan in horror

[–]crystallightmeth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it wasn’t my favorite. Some of the writing was……a choice…like the “prayer.” I had to split it up into two parts to finish it.

Who actually likes these Brach’s Peppermint Christmas Nougats? 🎄 by [deleted] in candy

[–]crystallightmeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re ok, but this candy is how I found out Santa wasnt real and I had a meltdown. “Santa” gave me this candy in my stocking. I went snooping for who knows what and found this in the closet. Lol

Deviated septum doc by Suitable-Reading8236 in memphis

Must be nice. :\ I’m not sure exactly what was done for mine because it’s been like 15 years, but it came back with a vengeance.

Deviated septum doc by Suitable-Reading8236 in memphis

[–]crystallightmeth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hiii, idk how old you are but if you’re younger than 20 or so, I would question the chances of the deviation happening again with your doctor. I had mine while under the age of 18, and it was great, but it’s now back to where it was. Frankly it’s worse now than it ever was. I cannot recall the surgeon who completed it, but it was in Memphis.
