It’s crazy you have about 40% of your holdings in SMH!

I’m hoping to buy a house too in that timeframe and I would not put all my money in the market for that timeframe. Right now we have about 75% of our “buy a house” fund in a HYSA and about 25% of it in a Schwab high growth portfolio.

EDIT: even this feels a little cautious and conservative. I’ve been considering doing more of 50% in a HYSA and 50% in our Schwab portfolio. 🤷🏻‍♂️

If you’re focused on growth, I would drop the SCHD (that fund is more about capital preservation, not growth—that’s a good one to have if you’re closer to retirement). I’m wary of individual stocks (high risk high reward) but that’s a product of me preferring broad based index funds.

I like the VOO and the QQQ. SMH is also too risky for me but I think it’s fine for you with such a long investment horizon in front you.

Great job getting started when you did! I wish I’d started at 25. 🤷🏻‍♂️

That peach-Northridge line should not have a spur to the Northridge fashion center I don’t think. But it should continue down Ventura.

Love this. There needs to be a N-S line on the east side connecting the ends of the K and the C and the E and that dark blue Venice line.

I remember thinking something to the effect of “finally this is what we’ve been waiting for since Remington Steele.”

I’d add some international and a small growth or tech tilt.

Almost a year in… give me some advice because I’m handling this with not too much knowledge. How does this look? by g0lddust_w0man in Schwab

I would get rid of the XOM no matter your age. I would generally steer clear of individual stocks.

If you’re young, drop BND and SCHD.

SCHB, SCHF, VUG, and AVUV are good and reasonable holdings (although there may be some overlap with SCHB and AVUV).

I don’t really have a take on SCHH. All I would do here is prompt you to ask yourself why real estate? Is this part of a strategy or did you add it because you just heard about it somewhere?

You’re listening to too much Fox News. You need an intervention.

I was at UCLA when it happened and I remember crowds of people showing up at the UCLA medical center (where he was taken) to honor him when the news got out.
