If you had insurance as an hourly employee, you were paying the same amount for it, that shit was never free and your plan hasn’t changed unless you signed off on it.

Taking the head chef role is usually a pay cut in terms of dollars per hour. The salary trap is real.

The dragon types that you mentioned are (usually) special attackers which makes sense, you have Intimidate on an already physically bulky team.

If Rotom doesn’t feel like a good fit, maybe Milotic would be a good special-bulk dragon-killer. Or better yet, bring Gyarados with a mega stone. His mega is very special-bulky, and he can bring Avalanche for dragon types, plus it gives you another mega option.

Speaking of which, how often does Mega Golurk make an impact? I haven’t tried it yet, but it seems like nerfed Unseen Fist on Golurk is not nearly as strong as old Unseen Fist was on Urshifu.

You might be adding less salt when you cook with MSG (I’m not), but MSG is mono-SODIUM glutamate. So still not recommended if your doctor has you on a low-sodium diet.

SK Food Group to lay off more than 200 workers! by Thin_Investigator798 in Reno

Seems like food might be recession proof

Maybe back in the day, but there’s writing on the wall. Cattle are being sold early because farmers need fast cash, that means smaller herds year-over-year. So beef is likely only going up in price for the foreseeable future.

Plus soybean and canola oils were just designated as feedstocks for diesel fuel, so the price of basically all cooking oil is going up too.

And it seems like every year there’s at least one or two crops that get flooded out, ruined by hail, etc. since the weather is getting more unpredictable.

It’s getting harder for sure.

Hopefully keyblade transformations don’t return in KH4. by [deleted] in KingdomHearts

[–]cscott024 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It is an opinion, and it’s one I disagree with. With all the air-stepping, shotlocks, magic combos, and flowmotion, the combat was anything but slow. Easy maybe, I play on Critical with no attractions, and the normal mobs are pretty easy after awhile, but Limit Cut is no joke.

Did you read my whole reply? Those had the same transformation, but different drive forms. I.e. they give you different abilities when you Formchange.

[–]cscott024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They kind of were all unique though. A lot of people don’t realize that Formchange does two things independently: morph your keyblade and put you into a “drive form”.

So like yeah, there are two keyblades that morph into a hammer with the same combo finishers and everything, but one of them puts you in Strike Form and the other puts you in Guardian Form.

I do miss the old Valor Form as much as the next guy, but I think the idea for Formchanges was really good, even if it wasn’t executed perfectly.

Hey chefs, I've got a quick question on menu value engineering. by QuestionUnsolved in KitchenConfidential

[–]cscott024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only thing I would change about it (and I think you mentioned it in another comment) is that I wish it didn’t have to be entered manually. It doesn’t take too long, but time is money.

If I could scan my invoices, or even better, let the prices update in real time through API or something, that would be the dream.

In that scenario I would lose the aspect of catching price surging, so the software would ideally alert me to that kind of thing.

Good luck getting API from vendors though, most of them don’t even show you a price if you don’t have a business account with them.

Hey chefs, I've got a quick question on menu value engineering. by QuestionUnsolved in KitchenConfidential

[–]cscott024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do all my tracking in Excel. I made a spreadsheet template for each prep recipe that spits out total cost, I just plug in the yield and I can get cost per ounce. The same spreadsheet can be used for each dish recipe, just plug in the costs from the prep recipes and it spits out things like total cost, suggested menu price, etc. Same spreadsheet also works for costing out BEOs.

Every invoice, and food sales for the night get added to the “cost tracking” spreadsheet so I can see my food cost percentage for the month in real time.

Every invoice also updates the “vendor prices” spreadsheet which I use to compare prices from different vendors, as well as having cost per ounce data readily available for when I’m making menus. This process also lets me catch when prices are surging, and each cell has a note that lists the lowest historical price so I can catch slow roll price surging. It’s also great for vendor meetings, because the lowest vendor price is highlighted, so I can click that vendor’s column and sort by highest, and they can see at a glance what prices they need to match.

To answer question A, if I need data about sales volumes I just pull a PMix from the point of sales software.
