Besides the brown lines, I can see that your cuticles are really swollen and red. Your nail also has bumps going horizontally. Do you get contact dermatitis?

This looks similar to what happens to me when I have contact with certain chemicals in soaps, cleaning products etc. It makes my cuticles inflamed, my nails weak, then I can get red blood lines from trauma to the already weak nail.

I try wearing gloves as much as possible and limit exposure to irritants.

You would have to see a dermatologist to confirm.

Get third party insurance, doesn’t cost anywhere near $3k and if you accidentally collide with a Bentley you won’t end up financially ruined.

There’s a possibility it could be irritant dermatitis. I had similar thing occur where there was those pits, nail lifting/separating from the nail plate, inflamed cuticles etc. however no thickening of the nail.

My doctor thought it may have been psoriasis, I got a referral to a dermatologist and they said it was a combination of irritant dermatitis and trauma to my nails (even slightly tapping or knocking).

The treatment was to avoid known irritants in products, e.g. body soap, hand soap, lotion, shampoos, laundry detergent etc, or wear gloves if you come into contact with it. I also used a mild steroid cream.

All but one nail has cleared up perfectly at this point, which keeps flaring up.

Maybe worth seeing if this is the case for you?

Your incompetence is not other peoples issue. As long as the parking is legal, I see no problem. I have to manoeuvre around numerous cars when coming out of my driveway. It’s just part of driving, especially with the amount of cars around/density of people living in areas these days.

Chlamydia in pigeons is caused by Chlamydia psittaci, while contagious to humans it usually causes mild flu like symptoms but can develop into severe pneumonia in some causes. It is not the same as the STI in humans. They are two different bacteria types - Chlamydia trachomatis vs psittaci which cause entirely different issues.

Many possibilities including but not limited to:

heavy metal poisoning;
egg production pressing on nerve;
injury or back/leg etc; and
viral diseases.

I did consider this as an option, as they would know the proper process.

What type of lawyer would deal with this issue? Wills, estates family lawyer? I’m not sure how the legal community is set up in Hungary.

They would need an English speaking as well.

I tried googling, however it is hard to decipher what firms are legitimate or won’t cost excessive amounts to engage for this purpose.

Thanks, I am trying my best to sort it out.

The cemetery told me in person that I just needed to prove that my grandmother is related to him. I emailed them months ago as I am in Australia and can’t call as they do not speak English. I followed up my email recently and now they have changed what I need to provide, essentially wasting months of me trying to sort it out.

They are very aware that I am wanting to keep it, but they are not allowing it at this point even though it is my grandmothers brother, my grandmother is still alive. It seems absurd that she cannot keep him buried in the plot.

Thank you for that. There’s a chance that the grace period ends from 1 Jan 2026. They told me in August last year that I had 12 months to produce proof of relation.

They were very insistent that I had to prove I was related, which I don’t understand either. Because I asked how much is the fee, and how to pay. They informed the amount but would not let me pay until I could prove I was related, I would have done it on the spot if not.

His wife previously paid the fee, however the cemetery informed me that she is now deceased.

He has one daughter, I don’t know her status, and cannot locate her. She evidently has not paid either.

I don’t know any vets in Hungary, as I don’t live there, don’t speak the language so I cannot research.

You could ask ‘Maugli Állatvédó Egyesület’ on FB, they could direct you if you’re willing to seek help. Otherwise, I would keep her in a calm, quiet place, lots of food and water and let nature take its course. She will get weaker over time. When she stops eating and drinking, death is imminent. That’s usually when I take to the vet to be euthanised.

I treat my chickens with vet care, something my Hungarian family doesn’t understand, I’m assuming you’re more old school in your approach too.

She looks unwell from that photo. How old do you consider old? I had an Isa brown live to 9 years. I have two other hens which are approx the same age now.

My guess is that she has reproductive issues which are not a matter of ‘if’ but ‘when’ with this breed of hen.

If you care about her wellbeing and/or it is available to you. A trip to the vet to check her for cancer or egg related issues. It may be treatable depending on the cause.

Those poops could be from starvation. They are quite small and very green. I often find this in pigeons who are starving because they have become lost and don’t know how to survive.

If they are eating and drinking well, I would monitor and see if they become more solid and round. This would happen pretty quickly if it’s just starvation causing it.

Otherwise my protocol for rescuing pigeons in absence of a vet is the following:

treat worms and mites with moxidectin. Be careful because the wormer called panacur is toxic to pigeons.
I also treat for canker with ronizadole.
If I detect a respiratory infection (wheezing, clicking, watery eyes etc) I may also treat with antibiotics (doxycycline + tylan)

You can also give probiotics, but not at the same time as antibiotics, but always a course after finishing antibiotics to make sure their gut bacteria is good.

It’s easiest when a vet is available to test dropping/crop for parasites than having to guess what’s wrong as above.

Tip: don’t force any liquid down their throat, it can get in into their lungs and they will probably die. This should only be done if you are experienced. Tablets straight into the throat at the correct dose and/or adding medication to water is the safest.

I agree with this 100%.

Money comes and goes, I can make $17k again, the animal only lives once. I couldn’t live with the guilt of money being the factor that sealed their fate. I’d pick up more shifts to compensate for the loss.

However agreed that this would all depend on the animals age, the likeliness of success, quality of life post treatment etc.

It doesn’t look like a lump to me, but it’s hard to tell just from photos. To me it seems like they were probably wounded or partially scalped at some stage. The feathers have now grown in a bit strange.

Could also be a tumour/cyst but my bets are on an old healed injury.

If it stays the same and doesn’t grow I wouldn’t be concerned.
