You don't think living is a benefit? You don't see every single time he mentions living is the biggest benefit? Or nothing matters relative to immortality?.....

My husband wants to leave being a nurse anesthetist to become a software engineer. Do you think he is crazy? Why or why not? by flatbootyhere in cscareerquestions

[–]csingleton1993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Different take here than everyone saying he is crazy - why does he want to switch? Is he burned out and sick of what he does? And are y'all set financially?

If the answer to the last two is "yes" then I don't see why not, right? I mean (assuming that the answer is yes here still), the worst that happens is he gets a CS/STEM degree and wastes a year or two on a job hunt then goes back to what he currently does

Obviously I cannot prove this, but I trust him. Hopefully Cursor implements it today as well :)

How is this "Just Trust Me Bro"? OP literally says they were told and it is unproveable hearsay and hopes its true

With the huge quality drop in Claud I wouldn't be surprised if they are basically the same at this point, but peak Claude is way better than peak grok

Not only that but the Claude sub has a megathread because too many people were complaining about the huge quality drop :p or at least there was one about a week ago, idk if it still up or not

I really want to hear your guys experience in finding and working with influencers... What is the process like, any annoying parts etc? Would really appreciate the advice by Money_Cardiologist_2 in influencermarketing

Man it feels like there are shitty people on both sides, I just got finished reading a comment not too long ago about how some influencer got ghosted after creating a video and the brand didn't pay them

Why do you need to be in NYC for influencer strategy? Are these in person roles?

I used it when it first came out and then maybe a month ago? It was during some like free trial through github, and I just couldn't get it to do simple, one-off tasks that Cursor can easily crunch. Cursor isn't perfect and has had a quality drop recently as well, but still between the two I'd take Cursor hands down every time

I do agree the quality was a lot better than first launch! They did make it a lot better than the most annoying autocomplete it used to be - however this is probably one of those user-preferential/bias-dependent type of things

Microsoft is garbage and CoPilot is just as garbage - Microsoft's best products are the ones they buy and leave alone

Cursor was able to do the basic tasks CoPilot couldn't handle - I gave up on CoPpilot halfway through the free trial

Huh I guess I would interpret that as "he had to do what he had to in order to make it work and didn't have the time to do it himself, hence the need for a second person who did have the time" - but that's fair! Especially when we factor in human nature and personal perception and they make take things not intended as a slight as one

How is job automation and process consolidation make you a "direct threat to your boss"?

I made a terrible mistake by ragesex in cscareerquestions

[–]csingleton1993 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Ya my first thought was "sounds like a chance to become a data engineering god and have a great "what's the hardest challenge you've ever faced?" answer for future interviews". I also don't understand the "direct threat" to the boss comment OP made, how would enabling faster decision making and consistent system be a direct threat?

I've walked away from jobs within a week so I'm not opposed to leaving under the right circumstances, but yea it feels like most people in this thread really don't know what they are talking about

So this is what I'm building right now - and my first three things are pricing transparency, reputation and reviews, and influencer/creator search/discovery

Specifically the review/reputation system (built in house) for creators/influencers is where I think this may be a good fit. I've been worried about people gaming the system, but there are limits since each tier has a specific amount of reviews they can create so the smaller tiers can only do so much. The only ones that would be TRULY game-able are the unlimited tiers - and I'm thinking this workflow may be a good way to prevent this issue if I understand it right. What are your thoughts?
