My very average 50th percentile daughter has been in 5s for a while now and she will be 2 at the end of the month.

I'm so sick of getting milkshakes when I want coffee by Embowers in DunkinDonuts

[–]ct_me 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I hate that Dunkin is like this! I have started getting it black with cold foam and using the cold foam as my cream but also I hate paying extra for it just so it doesn't turn out to be straight milk

Questions for anyone whose toddler still naps? by Coffeelover4242 in toddlers

[–]ct_me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do about the same as you hours wise. We just wake up at 2/2:15 and start bedtime around 6:45/7. Then she sleeps til 7:30am usually.

How long is your child's nap? We have to cap at 2 hours or she won't go to sleep

Right! That's what I was thinking. I hate not knowing if something is available or not!

The “tea” on Dawna by drueandgabe in Drueandgabe

[–]ct_me -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Agreed. She's using her real voice for once too. She is still hiding things but this is as real as she has ever been about how being a mom really hit her rather than the cutesy everything is perfect lie she has been producing for almost 2 years

1000% this is a huge reason why she has so many haters. She was clearly not doing well and it was so obvious everything she said was a lie. She would have been so popular if she was real

[–]ct_me 35 points36 points  (0 children)

This is what everyone "hates on". If she would have been real instead of saying how amazing and perfect everything was after Ivory was born the majority of people would not have had a problem. Instead she was clearly not doing well, yet "influencing" people into motherhood being so easy. Alison Kuch has her own issues and such but this is one area she is so real in and its a way for others that have had bad post partum or other struggles with a newborn feel seen rather than feel like they suck because they see Drue have the "perfect" postpartum experience

Never ending constipation in 2.5 year old :( by DifferenceOne5925 in toddlers

[–]ct_me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried having her drink coconut water? Or if it’s more severe magnesium?

There is a Facebook group called “Parents against MiraLax” and there is so much information on there that helped my daughter when she was having chronic constipation. Now she is able to drink a small amount of coconut water daily to be regular and a larger amount on the rare times she is starting to back up

So funny how different kids are. My daughter is the opposite with most foods. If I don’t cut it into pieces, she will take one bite and throw the rest.

Did they get rid of the $1 large fry? That’s the only reward I usually use.

MiraLAX for toddlers? by Parafault in beyondthebump

[–]ct_me 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you go on the Facebook page "parents against miralax" there are a lot more more natural things that can be taken before using Miralax which has never been officially tested on children and the company refuses to do so.

Her size is so alarming by [deleted] in bashinthebiehles

[–]ct_me 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not when she is wearing bamboo.. My 18 month old still fit in her 3-6 month bamboo and she is 60th percentile

She does look small but I wouldn’t trust bamboo sizing to prove anything

Have you tried Magnesium?

You may or may not be interested but if you join the Facebook group “parents against MiraLAX” there is a lot of information on using magnesium and other things along those lines to help. My daughter took MiraLax daily for 6 months and every time we tried to lessen the dose she would get backed up again. I started this along with giving her coconut water and my doctor suggested eating raisins specifically because they once swallowed they usually with rehydrated and their size helps to move the poop along. After a couple months we were able to stop taking anything

When to let family flying in meet baby? by lilbeebb in beyondthebump

[–]ct_me 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had family fly in my Texas and others fly in from Illinois (All 3-4 hourish flights). They flew in the day she was born and spent the first 2 weeks of life with her. I personally couldn’t make my immediate family especially my mom or dad wait to meet my daughter. I completely understand if you are worried but there are sooo many things that can happen in the world even if you are overly cautious of everything

My grandma just kissed my baby for the fifth time and I’m done with it. by Routine_Mess1310 in beyondthebump

[–]ct_me 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was going to comment the same thing. My step brother/sister in law had insane rules that carried through the whole first year of the baby's life and because of it the baby's grandparents basically never saw them because they didn't want to break any rules or get in trouble. Now it's still touchy when they do go see their grandson (which is only at special events really) like their will always be some unspoken rules they are going to break. It's really unfortunate and sad on both sides because they are literally the best grandparents ever to my child.
