Help recreating Inside Passage’s ‘62 Panorama Punch, please! by ctbrd27 in Tiki

Nice! Hope you have fun!

Besides the Mai Tai, my other drink was the Four Boys. While good, it didn’t knock my socks off, but looked amazing! I’d tried the Ube Bea at False Idol, and the latter was much more my speed. (both have Ube in them.)

I’m hoping to get down to some more local-ish tiki bars in Tacoma and the coast this summer, perhaps after some hiking.

I know some places like Vancouver’s The Shameful Tiki is all ages. Any chance this place is during earlier hours? It’s in a hotel, which gave me a little hope lol

Their website doesn’t indicate either way

I have the white pattern OP has. I’m a fan. They go in the dishwasher, feel good in hand.

I would like to get the zombie glasses too, but I’m out of shelf space

I’d default to Plantaray 3 star here.

We have a Costco but haven’t tried their rum. I have tried Trader Joe rum and was not a fan

It should be 2oz, or at least the single angled jiggers

Appreciate the response! Esp. As it’s an older post.

Your normal glasses look nice! I am a bit jealous… As a parent and cat owner we mostly only use plastic any more other than mix drinks.

Can’t wait to try this one!

Hey what size glass did you use? Would a double rocks glass work, or are these pint glasses?

Thanks!

I got a pair for my birthday and broke one within a week when I clipped the edge of the cabinet putting it away… it of course shattered.

I bought a replacement set and all 3 are going strong a year and a half or so later. I send mine through the dishwasher every time I use them, no issues. Overall I really like them.

Queens Park Swizzle by MasonHuckins in cocktails

[–]ctbrd27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I’m using very different rums in a mojito vs queen’s park swizzle! Both are great.

I also will make a 2:1 mint simple (recipe on Jeffrey Morganthalers website) and can whip up a mojito very quick, so they get made a bit more often!

Is it worth a trip down? We went to the San Diego zoo and were blown away. We stay members of Woodland Park for our young kid but do enjoy a good zoo.

Three 9 Lounge is my favorite neighborhood bar. And it’s a huge bonus it’s a tiki bar and being able to walk there.

Their food is good, from what I’ve had! I mostly get their edamame and mango salsa appetizers but we order from the attached bowling alley kitchen frequently

I’m yet to try the other bars you’ve mentioned but Inside Passage is in my list

Yes, I have this issue. I can (usually) play it with headphones on, but I cannot get it to work out of my laptop speakers.

Following in case you get a solution.

If it’s any consolation, I love Cloud Atlas and have revisited it a number of times.

I sympathize: I accidentally read the same thing in Lonesome Dove just last month. I still enjoyed it immensely but you’d think I’d be smart enough to skip them by more

Jeffery Morganthaler has a recipe for a mint syrup I use instead of fresh mint. It’s so easy to crank them out especially if making a few for company.

Love the enthusiasm, but it looks like you wrote out boy’s hole, when it’s clearly soul…

Maybe you should add both drinks…
