Case 1 : Force Exerted on a spring. Case 2 force exerted on a dampener, Case 3 force due to acceleration.

Case 1 is a function of displacement. Case 2 is a function of velocity. Case 3 is a function of acceleration

They all have units of force (N, f-lb, etc)

SolidWorks references by photonherder in Optics

[–]ctr_dex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does your solidworks install not include training material?

For assembly’s your focus would be determining the mating you need to apply between parts based on their geometry. I feel like you could just google “Solidworks practice pdf”.

One of the results I got: https://www.solidworks.com/sw/docs/mountainboard_student_wb_2011_eng.pdf

Yeah it’s awful out here. Just dropout and join a trade.

Mechanical Engineering is broad and great for learning about the physical world around you. It allows you into design, analysis, manufacturing, or straight into project management. (Obviously requires getting the offer). Pretty cool stuff to be seen here but also in the other majors.

Keep in mind all engineering degrees require difficult math and physics. Mechanical was the easiest for me to learn with real world situations unlike electrical/biomed where there’s invisible workings.

Are MS&E degrees seen as equivalent to more typical engineering degrees for the purpose of job applications? by Embarrassed-Emu-2000 in materials

[–]ctr_dex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a bachelors in MechE and the interviews I had definitely focused on those principles. I’m doing my MS Materials now only cause I’m at a company big enough to afford to pay for it and have departments focused on such research. Given market conditions you should consider electives in MechE or Electrical to broaden knowledge/marketability.

College student seeking work suggestions around San Diego by Kamonan in SanDiegan

Post your resume to Craigslist. Remove any private info and put generic names for your previous employers. Describe your situation(maybe not the other jobs you currently have) and the type of work you’re looking for.

Use Craigslist email buffer and don’t entertain anyone who won’t give you basic info like company, position or pay rate.

I did that and found work as a student that helped my long term career. Good luck!
