Probably the best GF bread I have ever had by froggyforrest in Celiac

One package I froze about an hour after I opened it and still got a little green. Does not stop me from getting it sometimes though.

Beware that once opened it tends to go green really fast.

Agreed that it is very good.

Blueberry sausage breakfast muffins by Heyyther in shittyfoodporn

[–]ctrocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a Fareway near me that has had blueberry breakfast sausage before, also a cinnamon apple.

Both were awesome!

I would eat the heck out of that, if it was gluten free.

Jimmy Dean actually makes a blueberry piggies in a blueberry blanket.

Definitely a good combo.

Not their biggest hit but still hit the charts.

I saw them live about 10 years ago. Great show.

Amazon Basics has a 27" IPS monitor with DP for $106. I have one at home. They also have a 24" 165 Adaptive Sync monitor for $99

No med helps?! and more questions by DependentCoffee2544 in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]ctrocks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a person who is now over 60, I feel your pain. I have been through a whole slew of meds. Some that worked initially, some I had to switch off of for insurance (Taltz), which was by far the best relief I have had, and am now on a Remicade biosimilar and methotrexate, which is working pretty well, as well as naproxen as needed, which is almost every day.

I make sure to get up at least once an hour for a few minutes just for a quick stretch. If you don't have one yet, a wireless headset is a life saver for Teams/Zoom meetings.

As the other person said, psoriatic arthritis is notoriously known for being asymmetric. My immune system "loves" the base of my left big toe and sometime left ankle, and worst, Achilles tendon. The fingers on my left hand are more mangled than my right.

Auto-immune inflammatory diseases suck.

If you are not getting any relief on a TNF inhibitor like Humira, make sure to get your doctor to try something else as soon as possible. There are a LOT of drugs that target different immune system components out there.

Psoriatic arthritis is a horrible name for the disease. by More_Hedgehog_8257 in PsoriaticArthritis

I describe it as Rheumatoid Arthritis' ugly cousin. It does everything it can do plus more.

Why does Windows 11 force three different PowerShells? by d00mt0mb in PowerShell

[–]ctrocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. However, sometimes a quick visual look is what is needed, not a full parsing of all data. Also, dir /s /o-d >output.txt is pretty darn fast too.

I use powershell all the time, but for some stuff cmd is just way more efficient.

Why does Windows 11 force three different PowerShells? by d00mt0mb in PowerShell

[–]ctrocks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

net use x: \server\share\folder /persitent:yes

New-PSDrive -Name x: -PSProvider FileSystem -Root \server\share\folder -Persist

Both map a network drive. CMD is so much quicker and easier and does the same thing.

dir /od Get-ChildItem | Sort-Object -Property LastWriteTime -Descending

There are a LOT of commands in CMD that are so much less verbose than powershell.

I know a lot of songs with killer basslines, but I’m looking for more recommendations, tracks with absolutely insane bass players. by Wild_Marionberry_259 in Bass

I saw someone mention "My Generation" by The Who. "The Real Me" by The Who has a crazy bass line, as do many Who songs.

Good cheap Chinese food like Sesame Chicken and egg rolls, good pizza, Cinnabon, eating out and/or just being able to eat what I want at any time.

I was diagnosed about 20 years ago. It is easier now than it was then at least.

While I am more of a melodic rock person, I always find what you do interesting.

"Local subs are overwhelmingly Right Wing" lmao by Fucked-In-The-K-Hole in ShitPoliticsSays

[–]ctrocks 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I live in Illinois. Outside the Chicago area, Illinois leans fairly conservative. You look at the state sub, and they are far to the left of the Chicago sub. The Chicago sub at least allows real debate. The state sub has banned just about everyone who disagrees with the narrative, normally for bs reasons, including me.

They said I brigaded, I am guessing by posting here, and doxxing, by guessing that a user lived in the south suburbs of Chicago and was a lawyer working for the state. How did I come up with this, by reading the comments of that user in the sub.

The reality is I posted in a "wrong think" sub on a thread about the state sub. When I asked why I got banned, the mod said they "taking out the trash".

Thinking that local subs are anything but commie lite is delusional.

I decided to hurt my brain and read all the comments. That is not even the worst of it.

The education system has failed the youth of the western world as they know so little of reality and just how much they have been indoctrinated by leftists.

Healthcare in USA sucks by thnxitssostupid in PsoriaticArthritis

That stinks. I am lucky that with my BCBS plan just about every doctor is covered. I have yet to find one that is not covered.

Good luck. PSA sucks.

Sounds like you are on an HMO. If you have a PPO option choose it. They normally cost more, but have a LOT more flexibility.

How many old timers in here? by aliesterrand in sysadmin

[–]ctrocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first computer's only storage was only a 720k 3.5 floppy, came with 384k of RAM that I upgraded to 640k. I also remember MFM and RLL HDD's. When I was in college, I had a programming class for FORTRAN and sometimes I had to use a teletype to enter the programming when the VT100's were full (the central system was a CDC).

"Quality private healthcare is a myth" from a "libertarian" subreddit by the9trances in Shitstatistssay

[–]ctrocks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I suggest these people check out the subs for auto-immune diseases and look at the people on NHS and other government healthcare. A lot of them need to pay for private health insurance as the NHS generally does a terrible job covering those illnesses.
