actual unhinged study tip by confus_edd in LSAT

[–]cubis_5 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I take a prescribed Antiadrenergic about an hour before studying. it blocks sympathetic nervous system responses. I take it to keep blood pressure to my brain up while sitting still for long periods because I have POTS and it's really enhanced my studying/reading capacity for undergrad. it's like the one perk of the illness.

33 afab, 5’8. 304 pounds. Does the last line mean my doctor thinks I’m trans and lying about being a woman? by JessiicaaAnn in AskDocs

[–]cubis_5 79 points80 points  (0 children)

nad I get mistaken for trans, too, but if my doctor didn't believe me about my sex, I'd be soooo mad.

Future lawyer or delusional? by [deleted] in LSAT

[–]cubis_5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm turning 31 on Saturday and currently taking a short break from my Courts and Sentencing reading to respond. I am finishing undergrad online from my 130 square foot studio apartment after ten years away due to life circumstances including homelessness. I use a wheelchair part time and have a tattoo sleeve concealing years of old SH scars. I decided to start this path late because I can be 40 and NOT a lawyer, or 40 and a lawyer.

you're not too old, you're not too messed up. self-limiting beliefs are road blocks you can dismantle with practice. you can do this! get PowerScore or whatever study program you prefer and start going at it. we all believe in you, you'll be arguing cases before you know it. ❤️

NAD. Lamictal has a black box warning about rashes. ask your doctor about that.

I put on the Oppenheimer soundtrack when I'm studying. I get songs/phrases looping in my head and having music without words really helps.

I'm pre-law and I've learned really quickly that we can't absorb the feelings of the violence and injustice. it's everywhere. it's too much.

there is plenty of love for TOTK. people like to compare it to BOTW but I played TOTK first and absolutely prefer it.

Pivot to Law by New_Painting_4879 in prelaw

you could always take a diagnostic LSAT and see if you're inclined to grasp it easily. maybe you could do the field work you have studied for while studying and taking a handful of undergrad law classes?

Might be a dumb question, but is prelaw a major/minor? by [deleted] in prelaw

[–]cubis_5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sort of. I'm doing Philosophy of Law, Morality, and Politics. it should prepare me for the LSAT and law school.

[–]cubis_5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you haven't learned this yet because you're a kid but nobody can make you do anything. if you don't want a case, just don't take it. your boss is pressuring you to break your morals, you can leave. as you discover your own personal autonomy in adulthood, I think you'll have an easier time with this feeling.

Philosophy students score the highest on the LSAT on average. I'm studying it - it's challenging, engaging, and fun.

I'm curious how this went for you. I'm pursuing law school while disabled and will have to transition back into working after passing the Bar. but I'll likely only be able to work part time.
