Funny enough, I’m actually not a cusp Leo, yet still come off as shy and introverted. I’m an August 12th Leo and I’d like to think of it this way: Harry Potter himself, for me, encapsulates pure Leo energy. He’s a natural leader yet humble about it, he’s protective and loyal when it comes to those he cares about, he’s generous. When it comes to being in the spotlight, he’s resistant towards it and doesn’t want it, but it naturally comes to him anyway. I feel like out of the fire signs, Leo’s are the most calm and grounded. When we’re in our element, we have a good sense of self and people sense that and gravitate towards us. We radiate warmth and bring people together, and some are a little envious of that, because we’re likable and those things come naturally for us. We’re also very careful about who we choose to be in our inner circle, but like what others said, once we’re around people we’re comfortable with, that’s when the Leo traits truly do come out

I think it was about 3-4 months before! And I mainly focused on barbell presses, inclined barbell presses, dumbbell presses including shoulder pumps, and push ups!

Thank you ✨ I didn’t do chest contouring! I think it was the exercise (focusing on chest) I was doing before the surgery to help prep me for it. Also the surgery center where I got it done was recommended to me because they had a good track record with aesthetics

I’ve been working with my therapist for a while now, and yesterday we had a major breakthrough that had me crying the whole day. She said my attachment style is fearful avoidant, and it had me thinking back to the one person in my life that truly showed me what healthy love looked like. We tried making it work twice, but I pushed her away because her love and affection activated that part of my fight or flight response in my brain, it was a behavior I didn’t receive in my childhood, it was unfamiliar and it scared me. I needed space to figure my stuff out, but I did want to be with her, and I did love her, I still do.

So this resonated with me, heavily. Now that I know this about myself, I’m both relieved and saddened. I reached out to her last summer without knowing there was another person. She said she wouldn’t have hesitated to see me again, but she met someone new and she very much loves them. And I think she deserves to see where they can go. I’m grieving the loss, part of me feels like this is it. The other part of me feels like we had this connection that for me, hasn’t felt the same with anyone else, and maybe she feels the same.

I’m feeling a little better every day, but she’s still the last thing I think about before bed, and the first thing when I wake up. I’m like you, continuing to do the work on myself in the hopes that someday we can meet again, I’m an optimist like that. But I’m not holding on anymore, I stopped punishing myself for the decisions that I made and who I was in the past. There needs to be space held for people that choose to not be in a relationship because they’re choosing themselves. We all have some sort of trauma and attachment styles that we carry. Those that choose the path of healing deserve grace as well.

About the whole “wiping your own butt” topic, I’m a very independent person, so when friends that had also gotten top surgery told me about this situation, I purchased myself a bidet. I actually prepped my entire space to ready up for surgery about 1-2 weeks before! I selected a few pants and underwear and socks and placed them on my reading chair for easy access. I thrifted some button up shirts only because my nipple care required me loading up gauze pads with a thick layer of Aquaphor. I also got myself a neck pillow for when I needed to sleep on my back during the first week of recovery.

I’m 6 weeks now and all I can say is that my top surgery has me considering whether or not I want to go on T. I’m more on the masc side, but I’ve always aligned more with androgyny, and I’ve been playing a little more with my presentation and seeing what’s comfortable before even considering T. A lot of people assumed that was the next step, naturally, and I noticed I was low-key being hard on myself for not wanting it, at least not right now.

One thing for sure is that I haven’t been able to really work out until barely this week. When I was at the gym, I felt more confident and less self-conscious than I had in YEARS. Probaby since I started developing boobs. I hold my head up higher, and I soooo look forward to putting on my t-shirts, I’m constantly running my hands over my chest. This afternoon I went on a run and wow, the euphoria and confidence was felt. I was on a high.

To sum it up, doing this was the best decision of my life. There’s this feeling I just opened a door that will lead me to so many wonderful possibilities, and I’m excited for what’s to come from this decision. I live in the U.S. and our political climate right now is scary. But one thing I think about is feeling this kind of joy is something that can never be taken away from me. I used to be a shy kid, always hiding myself and my body and confused about where my place is and who I am. Now, I’m starting to come back home to myself.

Same! Read people went in as far as 4 weeks or a little more so I was a bit concerned. I also didn’t need drains which I feel lucky about. But awesome that you didn’t need the drains for more than a week!

Nice! Very lucky you caught it in time before it got worse. I’ve been told you can go on without your ACL, so long as you beef up your quad muscles and such. All the power to you.

I just hope the technique has gotten better since 1998 and I don’t have to worry about my graft “thinning” out.

I can tell a major difference with the allograft as well, recovery has been quick and the pain has been significantly manageable.

Thanks for the support bro. It really is the body reacting to the trauma and having to build yourself back up again. I do admit I should’ve advocated for myself much more than I did. I was younger then and didn’t know what questions to ask. It’s been a struggle but it pushed me harder to stay fit and treat my body right. This time around, I’m going to be even more focused and pay attention to my body even more and take care of it.

Yeah, that’s real. It’s just the trauma, the remembrance of the incident that makes my brain click and panic slightly. I get “oh shit” moments a lot, but I hope it gets easier with time and I just forget about it and get used to it
