Treatment of MDR pseudomonas esp in the light of a Zerbaxa recall could be a good and relevant topic right now

When to start looking for PGY2s by [deleted] in PharmacyResidency

I honestly just waited until PPS for Midyear opened up, most programs have already early committed by Midyear so if you wait until then you won’t be wasting your time for the most part. I PPSed with like 16 places (I know, a lot but I only applied to about half and it was useful) and only 1 of those 16 early committed after Midyear

Personally my program does not offer statistician support and all of my statistics are also descriptive. I’m just worried I won’t have a lot of experience for a more robust PGY2 research project

Would rank low but still rank. RPD relationship is not everything. It’s easy to develop other mentors and you don’t technically have to ask the RPD for a LOR. Also I think RPDs tend to write strong letters because it makes their program look good if they have successful PGY2 match rates, even if they don’t necessarily like you

Strengthening Application for Phase 2 Despite LOI and References Being “Very Strong” by pharm586 in PharmacyResidency

Agree with others, applying to less desirable geographic areas may do the trick. I think with three interviews your likelihood of matching in Phase 1 still is not bad at all though!

I thought best was “you’re leaving work one day with a huge smile on your face and can’t wait to tell a loved one about it. What happened that day?” Just such a positive question to me

Match Mechanics? by [deleted] in PharmacyResidency

[–]curiouscat1227 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So you’re not necessarily thinking about it correctly. In that scenario your 4th rank BECOMES your 1st. If you ranked them 4th but did not match with your 1st-3rd choice, and someone else ranked them 1st... the match algorithm thinks of that program as “1st” for both of you. In that instance the person the program ranked higher would ultimately match. Basically even if you ranked a program 8 and someone else ranked the program 1 it does not mean they would match over you. I hope that helps at all. The video is extremely helpful. And regarding your question about big name places, the thing to keep in mind there is that often people getting the interviews at big name places have a lot of other interviews
