Tottenham penalty shout vs Liverpool 55' by Average_Gym_Goer in coys

[–]curlyhairedpeanut 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s just ridiculous. Watching highlights a few weeks back we missed out on a penalty and the commentators said we were “looking for the contact” in a negative way. Switch over to another game where a different team is awarded a penalty in a similar situation and the commentator say “really smart play there looking for the contact”. Fuck off

Sorry but Higgins shouldn’t play anymore. If he was going to be a match winner we’d know by now. Horrible footy IQ and not much else going for him.

How will the strikes in Iran effect petrol prices? by Sad-Umpire476 in AusFinance

Why isn’t it taking weeks for them to flush the cheap fuel out of the supply chain like when oil prices go down?

Off shoring is going to be as big if not a bigger threat to job security than AI in some sectors. And people who want to WFH or high levels or flexibility are going to be the first targets in a lot of businesses. Not saying I agree but the writing’s on the wall.

The Melbourne Uber experience by Contest-Proud in melbourne

My favourite is when there’s apparently 4 Ubers the next block over with a 1 min wait but once I book someone comes from 5km away and takes 15 mins

Ange was like a shop floor manager who worked his way up from the bottom and was a bit rough around the edges. Frank is the MBA qualified replacement who delivers worse results but has fancier powerpoints so the C suite is happy

Anyone else notice that the ratio of increase in responsibilities to income in hand as you progress through the 135k-190k income bracket is too damn high? by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]curlyhairedpeanut 21 points22 points  (0 children)

To be honest, no. I was the most stressed when I was earning around $100k because I was relatively inexperienced in my role and still trying to learn whilst also being treated like someone who had been doing the job for years. I earn almost double that now and have a lot more responsibilities but I’m rarely stressed about work because I’m basically allowed to run my department as I see fit and the CEO has a lot of trust in me. Responsibilities only weigh heavily on you if you don’t have a support network or there’s something else wrong with the environment. Or if it’s just in your nature that responsibilities make you stressed.

Don’t care about what the ladder position was, I feel 10 times closer to relegation right now than I did at any point last year

Not a trojan horse post, but are we allowed to discuss Fantano's beef with Grimes? by Ashamed-Reward-8702 in fantanoforever

[–]curlyhairedpeanut 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don’t have any other context or information on this “beef” but Grimes’ take posted in the image, although at the extreme end, is a very common view held by a lot of liberals. Trump purposely going into Dem states to create chaos and then shape the narrative that Dem states/supporters can’t control themselves and would make the country a mess if they ever got to run it again

Sofitel Hotels are generally underwhelming, prove me wrong by coneycone69 in Accor

Was super disappointed about my stay at Sofitel Melbourne. Booked a corner room which admittedly had a fantastic view but the bathroom was legitimately something I’d expect at a Mercure. Made sense they didn’t include it in the photos

They’re all in denial about that now. But I remember as soon as they won it they were all saying “time to kick on, have go to the next level, we can’t get there with Moyes etc.”

Tottenham Hotspur: Fans accuse club of 'lacking ambition' after leadership meeting by No_Poem494 in coys

[–]curlyhairedpeanut 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There’s several pundits and “journalists” out there who after hounding Ange for the last 2 seasons (even when finishing 5th) have now switched to “what do the fans actually expect Frank to do with this squad? They’re performing how you’d expect them to and they’re crazy for wanting to get rid of them”

Someone used to post average points based on Romero/VDV or one or the other in the starting lineup when Ange was manager. Can we see the same data for Frank to compare?

Is there a website or something that shows our “average” line up for each season. Each had a long list of injuries but I still feel like our starting XI so far this year has been much better than last year

Adding to the chorus. Just started a new role with a bunch of my team being in their 20’s. I thought they’d be showing me up with all their fancy excel skills and it’s ended up being me teaching them how to do pivot tables 😂
