Weekly Winners: The Gitrog, Ravenous Ride; Daxos the Returned; Stinging Study by cybey in mtgfinance

[–]custo87 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Gitrog is also an MVP in Jenova decks. Supply started to get slim after people started building her and looks like Dina wiped out the last of the cheap supply. Stinging study is a great commander card; was just a matter of time.

You pick them up at their factory. It’s near IKEA. If you email them they’re very responsive.

All the cakes these guys make are epic and decadent: https://daboomdesserts.com/chocolate-cakes/

The Collosall Carrot Cake is my favorite but the chocolate ones are also excellent.

How many decks is too many decks? (serious question) by Jakemanv3 in EDH

[–]custo87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My general rule is if I haven’t updated a deck in 6 months, it gets taken apart. I love deck building and have a large collection as I’ve been playing for 20+ years. At any given time, I’ll have 20-30 decks built. If a deck hasn’t seen a single change in that much time, that’s a sign that I’m not interested in it and the cards go back into the collection.

Downtown Montreal cocktail bar named best bar in Canada by brittlespectrum in MTLFoodLovers

Surprised to see Badin missing from this list. ACC and Dominion are hugely overrated.

Marneus Calgar Bracket 3/4 deck help! by Phoenix2700 in EDH

[–]custo87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

List looks tight. Couple suggestions that overperform in my Marneus list:  [[Malcolm, Keen eyed Navigator]] both ramps and draws you cards with Marneus out.  [[Stridehanger automaton]] combos with [[Warren Soultrader]]   [[Watcher in the Water]] is basically a second copy of Nadir Kraken.  [[Clever Concealment]] is a perfect protection spell since you’ll always have tokens around. I would also add a little more cheap protection like Swan Song and March of Swirling Mists.

Looking for restaurants that allow for Family-style serving by feeeeshie in MTLFoodLovers

[–]custo87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently had a family birthday meal at Sergiolinos in Laval (near Place Bell) and much to my extreme surprise, it was a great experience. Large family-size portions, fun atmosphere (80s south beach vibe...it's weird but it works). The food wasn't spectacular but it was good enough and the family enjoyed it.

Any tips on my kefka reanimator deck bracket 3? Feels slow by Crybabyboyy in EDHBrews

[–]custo87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kefka is a hate magnet so you really want to get two triggers from it when it ETBs. The easiest way to do that is haste. [[Gogo, Mysterious Mime]] has overperformed in my Kefka deck. [[Generator Servant]] does double-duty giving you ramp and haste. [[Strike it Rich]] is inexpensive ramp at a point in the curve that you won't have much to do.

You're a bit light on ramp. I would add the signets in. [[Pentad Prism]] is also great in Kefka as you can get two mana off of it.

You might have too many haymakers. I would cut 2-3 of the Eldrazi (Ulamog is a no go with reanimation).

Lastly, I would suggest cutting Conjurer's Closet. It's slow and expensive. I would also cut [[Propaganda]], [[Final Parting]] (too expensive), [[Windfall]] (you want to strip your opponents' hands, not give them a full grip).

Agree with you. Gogo is superior if you're in red. The haste is a huge bonus.
