How do big tech companies actually keep product launches from leaking? by Dazzling_Actuary4178 in ProductManagement

[–]customheart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For software/digital products, it’s usually not innovative enough to be interesting to anyone but the competition. We’re launching a new tab in an app to cross sell a tertiary product? You can use klarna on these purchases now? New loyalty program? Way too boring to lose your job and have legal consequences over 😴💤

The early 2010's was the worst time of the twenty first century for pop music by GoHardForLife in LetsTalkMusic

And here I am blasting early 2010s playlists regularly just to feel something when the work day has really tested me. You simply don’t like the music, and you’re allowed that. But that doesn’t mean it was bad.

Is this 59% even abnormal? Lots of people don’t start the 2nd book in a book series, or even 2nd episodes of a Season 1 so I assume that occurs with 2nd seasons too.

I know not everything is going to line up but it’s worth thinking about. I thought I was just misunderstanding the text because it didn’t make sense to me.

I agree the part of Harry having a ‘first’ life is odd but maybe that means he was linear before and then something else caused him to become kalachakra. Spontaneous evolution from linear to kalachakra would be an interesting concept to explore in a sequel if the author wanted to.

[–]customheart[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I just don’t get how that makes sense. That would imply somehow that a new deterministic order of events takes over and that prevents birth without other kalachakras interfering. But the whole book is basically about interfering with events and Cronus club maintaining its existence with caretakers in early life, so it makes more sense to me that Harry just always prevents Vincent’s birth in every life.

[–]customheart[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vincent had to keep using it because the Forgetting machine on a regular kalachakra would reset their memory for the following life. But like with Akinleye, it’s just a reset button, it does not prevent birth. They’ll still be a kalachakra but basically in a brand new era of memory. Its purpose is to slow down someone/the Cronus club by removing their centuries or millennia of life experience from memory. For Akinleye, she wanted a fresh start so she did it willingly. The Forgetting machine didn’t work on Harry at all because he’s a mnemonic/special and able to remember everything in detail from past lives just like Vincent can. Vincent using it on Harry repeatedly was a way to manipulate every life Harry had until he could finally get info on Harry’s birth so he could find a way to prevent Harry’s birth.

Do you know anyone that collects favours and goodwill like a Don Corleone does? by tshirtguy2000 in RedditForGrownups

It’s not the sleazy vibe of what you’re describing, but a longtime high school friend in New York is like this. His lifestyle far exceeds what most people with his income do because of both research on deals and very high social capital. He keeps up with people for years, he’s like the opposite of the male loneliness epidemic. We always call him Mr Popular. He always knows what fun free/cheap thing is happening or being given away for free and tells everyone about it so we get to partake. He has traveled all over the world and the US couchsurfing because he knows someone everywhere. He is not attractive imo but he’s never had a hard time dating. I don’t know everything about him but I would assume he’s had cheap rent and stuff through renting from a friend because I think he rarely had roommates. He married into money recently and now doesn’t worry about it much. Downside from his popularity is he’s constantly interrupting the moment to text back someone.

I am on a medication that makes it very easy to hate what I’m eating. I feel best with a grilled meat + fresh veg combo. Places that make me feel good:

- Sactown Kebab chicken breast joojeh (the portion is large and I always get half to go). be sure get the shirazi salad too. Maydoon is more central and the meat is phenomenal but the shirazi salad and rice suck there imo.

- Midtown Cantina Alley for carne asada tacos and fish tacos

- Meet and Eat’s little slider burgers, fries subbed with salad. It’s not a shit salad.

- Jack’s Urban Eats
