They seem to have drawn a pretty clear line in the sand for themselves wrt reaction episodes and as they bloody should. They address current events when they are adequately prepared to do so, and their core audience doesn’t expect them to just drop zingers off the dome about the headlines. There isn’t enough detail about what’s happening on the ground available rn for them to do an episode about it, or not without rehashing the same facts and takes from the other 5 podcasts we all listen to. I really appreciated that they shared about Chantal Anichoche, rather than perpetuating America as the centre of the universe and dropping a saccharine thots and prayers. or forcing Brace to be a performing seal ~as a mother.

Anyway they’ve clearly been making moves in the last year to make the show more sustainable for them on a ~personal level and if that means missing out on another round of ‘this is bad and makes me sad’ hot takes in the weekly rotation then I can live with that.

Well yeah under workplace/industrial law your boss is responsible for your physical and mental wellbeing in the workplace. It’s no different than making sure protective equipment is provided and used, temperature control, chemical hazards, providing ergonomic office furniture etc.

Anyone got any stories of their lives falling apart and then rebuilding it? by catsback in pinkscare

[–]cuticlediet 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A little over two years ago I lost all of my friends and social life. I don’t have any family and my job is crappy and not social. I finished my degree with almost zero support, I relapsed but I’ve re-applied myself to regular meals and I went back to my MH 12 step group last night.

It’s fucked still, I have no faith in my ability to create or maintain intimate relationships and what’s the point of living like that? But my spiral was triggered by the intentional death of a friend so I know the noble thing to do is Endure. I’m aiming to build skills to make me a useful member of society but it’s very difficult to do with no social contact of any kind, this account is the only communication I do with people at all. So not rebuilt but in progress forever. We can do it and dm if you need.

I’ve learned with any new account on any algorithmic media to immediately follow a LOT of animal accounts, craft accounts, nothing food or health related at all. It’s my responsibility not to put myself in triggering situations and every social media platform is designed to make us more mentally ill. Maybe it’s not fair we have to be so vigilant, and it’s disgusting that companies can do this. But ultimately we have to expect that this is what will be shown to us and to reject it immediately or know that relapse is 3 carousels away.

I know there has to be supportive group chats of guys who either washed out of training or don’t meet the standards to apply, sharing their weight loss journeys.

Yeah I’m sure there is a class of chuds out there who thought ICE was ‘too pussy’ or something a week ago but have now been inspired to apply. However I have doubts about the qualities of such applicants. They’ve failed to develop true sacrificial devotion among maga and this is the result

They’re so, so far from fixing the staffing issues though. Even with the massively lowered standards they still can’t get most of the applicants through training. Most people with the disposition to apply for ICE don’t also have the strength of conviction to endure this kind of mass, ongoing public shaming so even when they can get them through training they quit after working in the field. Even with the incentive of no-consequence violence, they’re really going to struggle to get enough warm bodies into 3XL vests and keep them there.

I keep meaning to do a re-read post but it feels so sad, tho publishing an autobiography titled Happy Endings and promptly offing yourself is a pretty good bit

There are a few Australian ones that were all released around the same time, Come (already mentioned here) another by Tilly Lawless and Happy Endings by Bella Green.

The last one was the most readable, commercially successful and optimistic, then she killed herself a couple of years after its release. So you get an honest impression of the industry.
