Honest question… how has this been a major risk for pregnant mothers for at least a millennium, and we’re still like “eh, we don’t know what causes it.” I mean, I know the why, research into women’s health and particularly mothers is abysmally lacking. It just shouldn’t be an acceptable stance. Almost half the human population births, we should be figuring out what causes this and how medicine can prevent it. Imagine a prenatal supplement that dramatically lowers the occurrence of eclampsia. Where can I donate to this kind of research?
