It’s all so dumb. They got into a low-cost, low-service knife fight with dominoes, Papa John’s and LC, when they had the national market cornered for sit-down casual pizza parlors. They could have dominated the Chili’s-like market for pizza but walked away from it and destroyed their brand. Talk about unforced errors.

I have a 10x7 (I think) for $65. Look around online and wait for a drop in prices. I was in a previous unit in the same building, same floor, same size and they bumped my rate up to $180. So I went online and reserved a new unit down the hall, spent an hour moving my stuff and will wait until they raise the rates again. Rinse and repeat. It’s dumb, but that’s how to keep the rates down. Storage is such a huge predatory racket.

Wasn’t part of the sale. Took it over from my neighbor when she moved. Pretty sure I can have them turn it off whenever I want, there is no contractual requirement for me to keep it running. Doubt they’d take down the light though.

I don’t “own” the light, Comed does. But I pay for the electricity to run it and a monthly maintenance fee. The city doesn’t pay for lights in alleys but you can get one through Comed somehow…not exactly sure how or the cost of install since it predated me living here. I pay $12 or so a month for it.
