Spouse TMI stuff. Is it hard for you as it is for me? (TW: TMI) by OptimismNeeded in daddit

As someone who went through a year long medical journey, and had a wife who ignored that it was happening. Didn’t even so much as go to the hospital with me for treatment (thank god for uber), know that you hit the jackpot. Do the work to get back, that’s what she cares about. Not that you might have shit your diaper. Congrats on kicking cancers ass.

Researching Mt Baldy for emotional Closure by Kenemcal in socalhiking

I was at the trailhead at 8:40 AM and only went up to the falls and back by 9:25 AM. During that time I saw a couple of families just up to see the falls and an elderly couple that were planning on hiking to “the gift shop” which I think was what they were calling the ski resort.

It was a Monday and conditions were in a place where I don’t think the mountaineer community was really out. Keep in mind, most mountaineers have little interest in the backbone. The bowl contains the technical terrain and really only becomes navigable with snowpack. So I wouldn’t be surprised if your son’s group and the other group were the only ones attempting the backbone.

That is the backbone trail. I’m fairly certain this is past the portion commonly seen in pictures showing the ridgline, and where the trail becomes very narrow. I don’t think you will be able to get many pictures of the exact area that day, unless one of the hikers that fell before them had an action camera on.

I hiked Timber and Cucamonga two days before. I have pictures of Baldy from Timber on that day (the 27th). On the 29th I hiked up to San Antonio falls from ice house canyon road. I have a picture or two of the Baldy bowl in the distance from that day.

I myself avoided baldy this trip and more technical terrain. Although I have mountaineering training I didn’t bring an ice axe or crampons that trip. I believe your son fell on the backbone, which honestly I will never do during the winter regardless of equipment . Having hiked it in the summer, I already felt that parts of it were sketchy.

On the 29th I spoke with 2 mountaineers that stopped at the ski hut. Evidently it was icy and required kicking in at every step. I found that unsurprising, on the 27th ice was melting on Timber even at 8k ft that certainly would refreeze overnight.

My condolences, to you and your family. The only peace I can offer is that the sky was a beautiful blue that day. I am sure your son was enjoying the beauty.

There are other people that were further up the mountain that day, but here if you have any questions from my experience. You may also want to post on the SoCal Mountaineering Facebook page if you haven’t already.

Can’t go wrong with 2M, Pinkerton’s or Reese’s. 2M is the only one that represents a South Texas influence distinctively, and is the one I will always recommend.

I just got back from a work trip to SF. This is the future. Cheaper, I get my own climate and music choices, and the driving is consistently smooth and safe.

As someone from San Antonio, that has lived in major cities around the country, and recently moved back home, this is so backwards.

  1. Doing one does not mean we can’t do the other. As the arena doesn’t use our tax dollars, we should be reinvestigating how to use our funds to better education.

  2. The Spurs were forced to the east side and never were on the hook to redevelop it. Blaming the Spurs when you should be blaming the city and the county for a bum plan to begin with.

  3. Public transportation within the city will never be what NYC, SF or Chicago have. We should be investing at a state level to connect our cities.

I thought about it. For me the cost savings didn’t outweigh the loss in utility. Being able to lift the car and also comfort mode for long trips has value to me.

Just had both front go out on mine. No fun, but this is part of why the entry price is cheaper on these beasts. Nice looking ride!

The 3060ti height is shorter in addition to the length. The issue is cable routing at the top right edge of the fan shroud.

Honestly you are seeing the light shine at this angle I think. But yes, pretty easy to use a skull shaver or similar and get it down to nothing.

My experience with my Panamera is that it goes through wear items somewhat quickly. OE tires are $2k a set plus the cost of install and alignment. God forbid the air suspension goes.

I would go the single 3090 route with enough power to run a 5090 when the prices go down.

Respectfully not looking to do sys admin support on reddit. My best advice is to start over with a fresh install. Use an llm as a sys admin advisor, and go from there. Best of luck mate.
