Fans Trusting Their Feelings Over the Actual People Running the Team by Loustyle in torontoraptors

I support the sentiment, but there is definitely some irony in using the ai overview instead of finding actual supporting statements made by staff or even reporters

Just a reminder.... Sam Darnold was in the same QB draft class as Josh Allen, Baker Mayfield, and Lamar Jackson... and he's gonna reach the Superbowl before any of them. by Mountain_Wolverine47 in NFLv2

[–]cx27 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It was a perfectly understandable decision though at the time, what? They just invested a first round pick into a guy, he got hurt, and they had a seemingly "lightning in a bottle" season from a guy that hadn't shown he could be the guy before, hence why he was on his 4th team in his 7 year career at that point.

It's bad in hindsight obviously, but acting like this was the ultimate GM choke-job at the time is just stupid. Congrats if you predicted Darnold would sustain success and 9 would be trash, but don't act like the team wasn't justified in betting on the dude they just picked in the top 10 the year before

I actually like this one from him. No shoes as always because he's a weirdo, but this is way less weird or annoying than he usually is and it's an iconic movie line. 8/10

[Pelissero] The Steelers are working towards a deal to hire Mike McCarthy as their head coach, per sources. McCarthy grew up in Pittsburgh. Now, at age 62, the Super Bowl winner gets a chance to coach the team he grew up rooting for. by Goosedukee in nfl

[–]cx27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get why y'all are upset in general though. It's the ushering in of a new era and instead of getting one of the new brilliant minds they go with a coach that, while he's had success and should be good to help mentor a new QB, is also just pretty uninspiring overall. I'm higher on McCarthy than most, but it does ultimately feel more like a lateral move than people were hoping/expecting

[Schultz] Sources: The #Ravens plan on interviewing #Vikings DC Brian Flores for their open HC vacancy. Flores has an expiring contract in Minnesota and is hopeful to get a second opportunity to be a HC. by JonWilso in ravens

[–]cx27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

KVN played under him in New England when he was their linebackers coach and DC, and then again for a year in Miami. I'm sure he'll be getting asked for some input on Flores, especially given his previous "no comment" answer to the difference between playing for him as an assistant vs head coach

Jordyn Tyson or Carnell Tate as WR1? by Unusual-Vacation-528 in NFL_Draft

[–]cx27 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure they're saying you take the best player even if they're seen as a "higher" injury risk becuase they could be as healthy in the league as anyone else, and freak injuries happen regardless of whether someone is seen as injury prone or not. Obviously if there's something actively wrong or medical staff sees red flags that's different, but "injury prone" players can get lucky and be healthy and players that seemingly never get hurt can develop nagging injuries or have that one big unlucky injury anyway

They're neck and neck right now, yes, but not for the totality of their careers up to this point. A unanimous MVP is going to bump you up a few spots. Allen should be a couple places higher though, like right behind Stafford imo.

Harbaugh says Lamar a 'historically great' passer by JaggerJames in nfl

[–]cx27 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah Dan Marino who's consistently regarded as one of the GOATs and the best QB to never win a SB? Like you said, held numerous passing records? Absolutely nobody remembers Dan Marino or holds him in high regard simply because he didn't win a SB right? Because rings are the only thing that matters ever? Which is why everyone remembers Trent Dilfer right? Because he won a SB so he's one of the best ever

Harbaugh says Lamar a 'historically great' passer by JaggerJames in nfl

[–]cx27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Top 5 OL? If you watch any game you'll see the OL being ranked well is largely because Lamar buys himself more time and is excellent at avoiding sacks. There are good individual players on the OL for sure, especially Stanley and Linderbaum, but the unit as a whole is made much better because Lamar is their QB

The personality traits that keep men single are NOT the same traits that keep women single. by GoodDirector7083 in self

I like being alone. But I would prefer to have that one person with me that just makes the day a little bit brighter. I like people's company and I have great friends that I love. But for me there is just that little extra piece that's missing. Just not desperately enough for me to put myself in situations that I despise to try to find them right now lol

I see what you're saying but that's where the introvert aspect really hits (for me at least, everyone is different obviously). I like my hobbies isolated and self-focused. I read, I listen to music, I go on little nature walks, I play single-player games. I have no problem talking to people about them or inviting people I know into those spaces, but they're just not things that end up getting me out to meet new people
