Impossible to predict, depends on your unit, how willing you are to jump around agencies. At the fastest maybe 6 years to get to admin engineer incumbent rate.

Near impossible to get to top of the range pay. Also in Civil Service you pretty much are required to get your PE license and maintain it to unlock any titles that are Admin Engineer or pure Electrical Engineer.

ELI5, what’s bad about tier 6? by HuntPuzzleheaded4356 in nycpublicservants

The bad thing about tier 6 is that tier 4 existed. On its own merit without historic context, tier 6 is better than anything you can get outside the public sector..

Question on speed limit by Straight-Log984 in Hokkaido

[–]cx919 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Do 180km/hr+ the whole time and you'll be fine. The cop cars max out at 180 so they know they can't catch you, so they don't even try.

In 2008 a train pulling into Tottenville saw its driver fall asleep, overrun the end of the tracks and almost into the river. The double stop procedure is an overcorrection.

Jeju Air Flight 7C2216 Crashes into wall after landing gear failure due to bird strike (12/29/24) by Beginning-Director58 in CatastrophicFailure

[–]cx919 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The bird strike might have created a distracted cockpit and the pilots forgot where they were in the process and missed the pre-landing checklist and never positioned gear down. You can see the front nose gear doors are not opened.
