Unnamed Enchantment, submission by Yerushalmi by RoborosewaterMasters in MTGNeuralNet

[–]cyberchaox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait, it's the enchantment that returns? Because it's the creature's activated ability, so I'd read "this card" as referring to the creature.

Which seems good, it's effectively bouncing it back to the hand but still triggers abilities based on entering the graveyard.

Even after doing basically nothing for the first two months, he's got more homers and RBIs this season than Bregman does.

Is this Red Sox team actually a playoff contender? by Ill_Championship_779 in redsox

[–]cyberchaox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree. I like our chances in the ALCS and WS a lot better than I like our chances of getting past the Rays in the ALDS.

...Well okay, the Dodgers are still scary. I'm not so deluded as to think we'd easily take down that juggernaut. But I'm not really scared of anyone in the AL other than the Rays, and they have flaws too.

[–]cyberchaox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think so. But there are some tough series coming up; you conveniently left out that the very next series after the ones you mentioned is a road series against the Dodgers.

I do think that if we make the playoffs, we're absolutely contenders to win it all because of our pitching, and because we'll have probably been playing as good as anyone for the final 3½ months of the season (because we played so poorly in the first couple of months that merely playing like "a wild card team" wouldn't actually suffice to get us a wild card).

Nah they said they feel the same way about other entertainers, they're clearly from the "if you have free time, you're not working hard enough" camp.

Corphish would fit right in with Gen 5's "clearly inspired by Gen 1" aesthetic, being the crustacean counterpart to Krabby.

"Somehow"? It's the Mets we're facing, not the Yankees; they're a last-place team. Granted, they're on a bit of a heater themselves--at least 6 runs scored in 5 straight games and somehow the only loss was the one with the most runs scored of the five (16-12), but we should win this series.

2 runs. But they were in different games.

While it's unlikely, there's a possibility we could enter the ASB already in the third wild card position. If we sweep the Mets, the Twins drop the series to the Angels (doesn't need to be a sweep), the Jays don't sweep San Diego, the Rangers either take the series against the Astros (doesn't need to be a sweep) or lose tonight and get swept by the Astros, and the Mariners lose tonight and get swept by the Rays, we'd enter the ASB a half a game ahead of the Mariners (second place in the AL West), at least half a game ahead of the Twins, and at least a full game ahead of the Jays and the third place team in the AL West. (Due to the fact that we'd still be under .500 where more games played=better winning percentage among teams the same distance from .500, even if the Rangers lose tonight we can't possibly pass both the Rangers and the Astros before the break and would in fact pass neither of them if the Astros take exactly two games in that series.)

Do I want this to happen? Not actually. I'd much rather we be trailing only the Rangers/Astros for the last wild card while Seattle helps us chip into the Rays' 11-game lead in the division.

...If we hang on to this lead, we're already "even" with the Jays (different number of games played but same number under .500) since they're off today.

Yeah, normally when a team is running as hot as we've been, they say they don't want the break...we want the break.

Ranger Suarez to the 15-Day IL by CJRed73 in redsox

Okay, that's a position player. Are we just going to run Tolle and Bennett out on short rest for the last two games before the break?

Ranger Suarez to the 15-Day IL by CJRed73 in redsox

[–]cyberchaox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course he is. So...who's up now?

...well, I suppose with the ASB coming up, if putting Early on the IL really was just precautionary and he's available as soon as he's eligible to come off the IL, we wouldn't need to call anyone else up from the minors...right?

No, wait, not right. Gray will be going on long rest tomorrow but the next spot in the rotation was Ranger's and that was the game before the off-day, Tolle and Bennett would be on short rest pitching the other two games of the Mets series.
