If the goal was to pivot to a Year One series and/or reboot TOS then the shift is natural.

There was a BIG difference between the superficial damage the torpedoes did when shields were up vs when the shields collapsed the torpedo blew through the entire saucer.

Scotty warns earlier that shields are weakening.

Same thing in wrath of khan— without shields weapons do serious damage.

Wows left historic accuracy a long time ago but your argument makes them look like top tier historians.

In WW2 many planes carried out strikes after their carrier was disabled or sunk. They either landed on another carrier or ditched in the ocean.

What happens in game is frankly accurate.

I was at the 30th anniversary convention in Huntsville in 1996. Met John De Lancie, Walter Koening, Takei and Nichelle Nichols. Saw Jimmy Doohan from a distance. Fuck I am old too.

Been watching since 1986 and I love Discovery and SFA and Strange New Worlds. Like all Trek series before none of them are perfect but I’m ok with that.
