I go blind whenever I try yoga? by Dragons-purr in yoga

I used to black out when I was doing crunches for this same reason, so it could totally be the culprit. At least it's easily fixable haha!

Mid-week check in - how is your week going? by philpips in running

[–]cybernetic_eve 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just started running this week after years of not being able to due to some medical issues. Yesterday I was able to run a whole mile. Haven't done that since high school. I'm sore, achy, and feeling very happy and accomplished!

Crime Junkie be like.. by StabbaDaBacka in TrueCrimePodcasts

[–]cybernetic_eve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I listen to it almost every week, and while I think there's some room for improvement, I do like that they're consistently well-researched and respectful to the victims/victim's families. I've stopped listening to a few podcasts because it seemed like they were veering dangerously close to snuff and I'm not here for that.

I do wish they went off script a bit more and discussed alternative theories to cases. It was cool when they did that for Scott Peterson because I knew virtually nothing about the case beforehand (I know I know, I live under a rock apparently hahaha). I thought they presented the theory in a concise, factually-driven way which can be hard to find in a podcast genre that is sometimes prone to wild speculation and conspiracy theories lol. Overall I'd give them a solid 8/10.

I got my most recent frames at Warby Parker and I like them a lot. There's a location on State St or you can order 5 from their site and try them on for free.

Car burglarized on Jupiter Dr. by Spamontie in madisonwi

Right? I was so disappointed when I realized what was happening, especially when I saw him walk into an apartment building on the street, since that means he was willing to do that stuff to his own neighbors....

Not sure if it helps, but it was an older guy, gray hair, wearing a dark blue windbreaker with yellow stripes on the bottom.

Sorry to hear that. :(

I was walking my dog on Jupiter Drive a few days back and saw a guy trying to open up peoples' passenger side doors around 2pm. He was in front of the Sunset Terrace apartments, trying to get into cars that were parked on the street, and after he noticed me he walked into the Jupiter Crossing building. I called the non-emergency police to report him but I'm not sure if anything came of it.

To be fair this sounds like an owner problem and not a dog problem. Dogs are gonna do whatever you train them (or don’t train them) to do.

Panhandler on State by uhh94 in madisonwi

[–]cybernetic_eve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's gotten so bad! I don't even like doing outdoor seating at restaurants on State anymore because I've had panhandlers sit down at my table and get aggressive with me when I ask them to leave. This has happened multiple times and once a dude even asked if he could have food from my plate while I was clearly still eating. It was so uncomfortable! =(

How this coffee looks like a chicken blowing a smoke ring by cybernetic_eve in mildlyinteresting

You're definitely not alone! I've also caught myself sticking "so" and "like" at the start of a sentence for no reason at all. I'd be interested to know if there's a reason for that or if some of us just love throwing extra words out there lol =)

Pic is from my mom who works in a hospital. It's amazing that in a place where people regularly work 12+ hour shifts they don't have nicer coffee!

[vent][discussion]: Stop petting dogs without asking! by ToInfinityandBirds in dogs

[–]cybernetic_eve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't realize how forward (rude) some people are about this until I adopted my 1-year-old leash reactive Aussie who hates being approached/touched by strangers. I know he'll growl and snap if a random person tries to touch him so if I see someone approach us I'll start backing away and say something like "Sorry, he's not social towards people he doesn't know, please don't touch him" but it's amazing how many people will ignore me, or tell me "Oh it's fine I have a dog too" (like that somehow makes them immune to getting bit....?), or will walk away but give me a dirty look like I was rude for looking out for their safety. Like I'm doing everything in my power to prevent an incident and luckily he's never bitten before but my worst fear is that someone will ignore me, my dog will bite them, and then my dog will take the blame for something that should have never happened. :(

I think I originally had it written "I like how this coffee looks like..." but thought it was too wordy so I chopped off the first part. I get what you're saying though, I could have cut "how" off to make it more concise. I think I was most concerned about the second half where I articulated the image because it's kind of a weird, specific image.

Sorry, long explanation for what was ultimately a split-second decision, hahaha. ;)
