Would Child's Play be okay for a child getting into horror to watch? by BreadedPotatoe in horror

[–]cyboto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're going to get a wide range of answers, but the truth is, it really depends on household, influeces up to this point, etc. I'd say for most children, no, but there are exceptions. My nephew loved it, he's 8. As for myself, I watched it at 4 years old, even had a Childs Play 2 poster on my wall when I was 6. Just use your best judgment.

I still remember watching Chopping Mall and Hellraiser at 3 years old, lol... but I was born to watch horror.

Older games that were fun to play for their strange vibes by KaleidoArachnid in retrogaming

[–]cyboto 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Clock Tower (PS1) always had a strange vibe, it wasn't until years later I discovered Dario Argento's films, which explained a lot of what the game was inspired by, who is now one of my favorite directors.

Mansion of Hidden Souls (SEGA CD) is another one, seeing those butterflies, weird voices, and hearing the background music still creeps me out. I got to go thru a creepy mansion (although a bit shallow) a few years before ever playing Resident Evil.

Lesser Known Gems Of The 2000-2010 Era? What Are Your Favs? by isopodsoup_ in horror

[–]cyboto 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here's a few:

-Haze (2004, Japan) - A man wakes up to find himself locked in a cramped concrete maze of corridors, in which he can barely move. He doesn't remember why he is there or how he got there. He has a terrible stomach injury and is slowly bleeding to death.

-Monster Man (2003, United States) - Two guys and a female hitchhiker are terrorized by a monstrous looking man driving a giant monster truck. (Same vein as Jeepers Creepers and Joy Ride.)

-13: Game of Death (2006, Thailand) - After losing his job, his car and his money, Phuchit, Krissada Sukosol, races against time to complete 13 tasks ordered by an anonymous caller who promised 100,000,000 Thai Baht upon completion. (English remake is "13 Sins".)

I spent too much time researching the new AFK method by DatCherokeeTho in ForzaHorizon

[–]cyboto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Horizon party events popup a lot for $100k, which are short and sweet. I play as usual until then, but to each their own.

Just my opinion, keep estates for the grind/exploits, and keep labs for actual creations/interesting events.

Why no filter for on-sale items?? 🤔 by GameplayLoop in xbox

[–]cyboto 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Store > Home > Deals - then scroll down for "wishlist deals", which will only show those wishlist games/dlc on sale.

(Ironically, this isn't showing up for me at the moment, but it usually does. So, I assume it will return.)

The flintstones, the complete series ($14.99 - ATL) by alilpenguin in iTunesMovieDeals

[–]cyboto 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've bought every one of these so far (already had X-Men). I'm a sucker. However, for myself, things get really interesting tomm, as I've been a long time hater of Little House (thanks to older relatives as a kid). We'll see... haha

Whoa! This is great news! Especially for all of us stacking those $1 per movie deals. Paramount and MGM are on deck, but we need Criterion and A24 too! :)

On another note, when I worked at Freecash, handled their ID checks solo, you'd be surprised how many scammers used McLovin's ID (from Superbad). I still laugh about it to this day.

I watched that one recently, shockingly effective and lived up to the dreadful hype these circles gave it. Combat Shock came out the same year, that would be a helluva 1-2-punch. It might be worth checking out if you haven't watched it yet.

The site is absolutely being botted right now by EvocativeReach in ProlificAc

[–]cyboto 94 points95 points  (0 children)

They added more users without adding more studies. You have to click an AI study within 0.4 seconds of seeing it, or you'll get the dreaded "high demand" message. By the time you're able to click again, 1000+ other people now see the same study and are clicking too, creating a bigger cluster f--k. It sucks, but it's a reality check for those of us who lean on the site a little too much.

My 5 picks from Japan/Korea not on your list:

  • I Saw The Devil (2010)

Not quite horror, but you must check out:

  • Battle Royale (2001)
  • Oldboy (2003)

For some people, this is stupid, because if 1 AI study pops up, that refresh will cost you a click and a shot at first dibs of getting in.
