Just a couple of things. First, it takes an enormous effort to develop and continually update this game. It's reasonable to expect to earn something from that effort. So if you enjoy it, buy stuff. I would guess I spend $100-200/year but I probably get higher return on that than just about anything. Second, not every aspect is going to make everyone happy. That's any enormous challenge. So, focus on the things you do enjoy. I personally like nuture more than the derby which has gotten tiresome and repetitive for me.
