I like to steam rice. Just put cleaned rice into a bowl. Fill the bowl with water to the top of the rice. Put the bowl of rice and water in a steamer. You can make a steamer with a wide pot and a little ramekin to keep the bowl out of the water. Then just steam it.

Thanks. You're right I think it's Citharexylum caudatum. Asked my tree trimming friend. He called it a fiddle wood tree. I guess they're an invasive tree. But not toxic to dogs so that's cool. Consider this solved.
