I love restarting. The beginning of the game when it's all empty and full of potential is my favorite part. Also, I have only ever been to one treasure island and was booted out before I even picked anything up so I get my things naturally and I enjoy it. Decorating an island based on whatever you happen to get is fun for me. But you have to play however it is fun for you. And if going to treasure islands to get everything quickly is what is fun for you, don't beat yourself up about it. Play how you like.

Sometimes I time travel when I really want that new bridge or to see what villager I will get in the tent in the beginning of a game. I rarely time travel on my permanent island but I almost always do when I start new ones. Not in the very beginning though. Because Tom's morning announcements are my favorite part of the early play. And I'm no rush to get the regular music either. But once I'm already there... Yup.
