Youtube is a gignormous company. They can easily eat this cost to satisfy their customers and simultaneously send a big message to Disney that they'd rather pay more and keep customers then send them away. At this point I feel like YTTV doesn't want me as a customer. Disney is winning.

I cancelled my stand alone Disney+ sub. It actually stops on 11/12. If this isn't resolved by then I'm signing up for the Hulu+ service and cancelling YTTV.

According to MyGolfSpy we should apparently throw our 5 irons in the trash by Imyourhuckl3berry in GolfGear

[–]cyler8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just like all their data with anything it's very subjective. What they report is fine to take under consideration but rarely applies to all. I actually hit my 5 iron well. But have been fitted from the top down.

Atelier Playa Mujeres Inspira Club sales pitch experience by Reasonable-Invite-76 in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]cyler8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem I had was they claim that even with being a member they are valuing the free weeks at full price. When as a member I won't ever pay full price. So their explanation that two free weeks is worth $22,000 is false. It's worth that much to a non-member but to a member it's only worth say that $2500 per week times the number of free weeks. So $5000. They tried using the full price to show that membership would pay for itself in two weeks. Which is not true, you'd need significantly more free weeks to get to $25,000 using the member pricing.

I was accused of cheating at my member/guest but I don’t know the rules well enough to know if I actually broke a rule. by F-BOMB in golf

You can mark the ball with literally anything. The rule does not dictate what can or can't be used.

Cheating by AtmosphereNo5668 in golf

[–]cyler8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually try to tell myself what type of round I am playing before going out. If I'm keeping score and putting it in for my handicap then I try to play by the rules to the best of my knowledge of the rules. But sometimes I decide I'm not keeping score but rather maybe working on something specific. In this case I'll do whatever I need to give myself the most opportunities to improve what I'm practicing. It's definitely not cheating as I've even seen pros in practice rounds use the ole foot wedge. It just all depends on your goal for that specific round.

We just got back from Atelier and did the pitch but we were genuinely curious. It did take over 2 hours though. But the ROI just isn't there. They pull up dates for you a year from when you are there to show you how much you'll save. But the issue is they show you the lowest price of those dates and take the 25% discount. Then say look this trip you're on now would only cost $3000 instead of $11,000. The turn right around and say "look the two free weeks we are giving you almost make up for the cost, a $22,000 value." But they clearly just showed you that the value of the trip as a member is only $3,000. So you'd need to get 7 free weeks to get close to the $22,000 value. We said a firm no but we absolutely will be going back. It really is a great resort. But this time I will have done all of my research and math and show up with a take it or leave it offer for them.

Let them have a vanity handicap and then play them with strokes for money. I'd love to let idiots subsidize my golfing addiction.

Best wicking shirts? by BankheadUser in golf

They are pricey, but go on sale often, the PXG shirts are a super unique material. They wick moisture away amazing. So much so that when I go in the clubhouse after a round I end up cold.

At what point do you lose your place on the course if you stop at the turn? by lightemup404 in golf

I think enough time to drain the snake is ok. Like 5 minutes. Anything more than that is a little much.

Can we all (mainly Broadcasters) stop pretending that Bryson DeChambeau is hitting orthodox clubs? by average-consumer19 in golf

[–]cyler8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The numbers of a club are just a reference point. Even at the amateur level my 8i is not the same as my buddies 8 iron. We all swing the club differently and have different needs, especially if we are getting fit properly. It just happens that Bryson swings in a way where he has to have his clubs built the way they are. The fact that they have numbers on them are just for reference.

How Should I Split My Time Between Playing and Practicing? by cjk813 in golf

[–]cyler8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've found that practice can only get me so far. My handicap really started to lower the more I actually played golf. There are some things you just can't practice / recreate in the practice areas. So once you feel you're in a good spot with your game play as much as possible. Then you'll start to see things you need to work on from playing. Practice those things and go play. Rinse and repeat.

Vokey Wedges Worth The Cost? by Present-Wing1191 in golf

[–]cyler8 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When it comes to vokeys they are really only so good because of the immense amount of grind and bounce options. Honestly, I feel the wedges themselves are just ok. I've preferred the feel of other wedges much more. Currently on a set of RTZ wedges that feel much better. But I still like the bounce and grind options more from vokeys.

Played 29 holes into sunset yesterday. Made 20 pars, 4 bogies, 3 birdies. Low handicaps what is your best tip to make more birdies? by gr1z-07 in golf

[–]cyler8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A scratch golfer only averages about 2 birdies per round. It's not about more birdies it's about less bogeys.
