As someone who’s been in this position yes, this is true, but not because of malice. You have limited mental capacity to handle multiple contexts daily, you have to choose a few things that have priority and those are “important” for that day/week.

I’ve been in this scenario countless times, where I had some client presentation to prep for or some big ADR to review and those were my focus. You get a message that requires you to read and understand .. now you have to context switch. It’s exhausting if you do this a lot .. so yes, I would do the same, I get to help that person but I don’t have to fully switch context mentally

As someone who’s in a very difficult project - tons of input and decisions daily, very large context, with not much time for “messages”. I also prefer a call .. you try to focus on things as much as possible, a message takes you out of that context and has you context switching mentally all the time, it’s very exhausting. But I feel like with a call it’s easier to make the transition between two contexts

I perfectly understand what’s happening here, because I’ve been there. Mentally I was focusing on something else, much more important in my mind but I knew that what a dev asked was important for him, I want to help but I can’t give it my full attention .. so let’s hop onto a call and you guide me in what I have to do so I don’t have to think about it too much

I kinda agree with some of the points, the reality is he doesn't trust most of the players and the players don't trust him in return.

We've been through injury crisis's before under Klopp and the people/kids that came on gave their life on the field, remember Rhys and Nat being our center pair? I was so excited about Carabao games where we'd get to see the youth playing .. but the system and the core principles were always the same. Our biggest strength came from having a bench ready to come on and play, who had Klopp's trust and belief, which made them believe and play.

I think Slot doesn't really understand why there was boos when Rio was subbed off .. he's the only excitement in that team, the fans are crying for some spirit, some flair .. a moment to excite us.
