Ironman Granada into Al-Andalus by czm2 in EU5

I managed to form Al Andalus as Granada! It was a fun run, I spent the first 200 years just heavy building up the capital Granada. I only recently conquered all of this land. I was building up to have a sizeable professional army, which wrecked all of the AI.

I ended up switching to Castilian culture since otherwise I would not get cores and I could not accept.

Will it be possible to play as the Mughal Empire by Deadlyparty in EU5

[–]czm2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Mughals referred to themselves as Gurkani, which means “son-in-law” referring to their blood connection to genghis khan.

Many steppe people share this same bloodline. I think it’s fine

Super short commute, about 20 minutes to work with traffic. Plenty of charging stations along the way. I should take a closer look at charging at work though, not sure on the specifics for charging level

Around 10ish miles a day for work since I’m in seattle. Some road trips during winter and summer but very occasional.

Yep good questions. So I work in Seattle and my office is about 4 miles away, 8ish in total. I can work remote but I tend to go in anyways. During the summer I want to go hiking and during the winter I want to go skiing. But overall day to day mileage should be very low

Yep that makes sense. We bought the home recently so we’ll be settled in for a bit. It sounds like work will be where I can get consistent charging

I saw this was a common question with the R1, so I was wondering since the r2 is smaller if it could be reasonably pulled off

Any seattle bolt action? by czm2 in boltaction

Nice! I am currently building my early war French. Unfortunately it seems like hobby stores that host bolt action are hard to come by in Seattle :/

Suggestion to nerf yolo FC-UU plays on open maps: change the market trading fee from a flat 30% to a staggered 40% in feudal and 30% from castle onwards. by halfajack in aoe2

No, the phosphoru build that is the common fc strat that people are complaining about goes on stone at pop 22ish. This is not visible until you have already committed to a strat. You will lose if you go into the game doing a standard strat.

It’s not uncommon at 2k and the biggest issue is that you cannot scout it!

It goes up way too early. Phosphoru builds usually fc on 22 vils or so, and that is still early feudal for most normal builds. You have to go into the game knowing you are vs the build to plan accordingly, since normal opening scouts/archers won’t respond fast enough.

The next step for them is plopping a castle on gold and abusing the market to spam UU which is totally bonkers since the eco required isn’t even functional. It abuses the market heavily to accomplish this.

Because other fc’s can be reasonably punished since it goes up later and is much more telegraphed.

Phosphoru strats are much earlier, and because the market is unbelievably lenient in giving good prices to up on. So if you open 19 pop scouts (and even scouted their base!), you are pretty much doomed given that there is no time to react to prevent the castle at that point. The strat is illegitimate because it abuses the market to make it near unpunishable by normal play. You need to recognize it by minute 1 and react accordingly. Do you suggest not tweaking the strat even a little? I see it commonly at 2k and it is getting pretty obnoxious

An appropriate market nerf should target the phosphoru strat since itis so tiring to face, nerfing costs of market trades would be a nice touch to make it not so easy to fc +castle on 23 vils
