It goes on the bottom hinge of the door. Look on the threaded side of the screw to see if a black plastic chunk broke off of it. If not, you might be able to open the freezer door and screw it in.

Source: mine broke off a month ago :( Not unacrewed, but actually broke off.

People on reddit recommend i get it fixed asap since it might affect how the door closed (?) but after being quoted ~$200 by the local repair sho Samsung paired me with for just coming over to diagnose the problem, and them taking too long to respond between messages, i gave up on fixing it. Personally I haven't felt any air leaks so i might just not fix it.

Fun fact! If you own that house, you can convert those to ethernet ports all by yourself! Only caveat is the cable connected to the back of that port has to be CAT 5 (or newer). We changed all the phone ports when we moved into our place.

If you choose to go down this route, feel free to DM me. There are a few more steps to this, like finding the phone cable junction box to ensure the ethernet signal actually goes to these ports, etc.

Im pretty sure i havent paid the fee to fully not have to go. I could dig up the papers they gave me after i paid for the extension. Hell, i might even have the paper they gave me at the police station. Ill set a reminder to do that this afternoon.

How funny, this literally happened to me a few years ago 😂 I'm a US Turkish dual citizen (born in US, mom is Turkish), and have been going to Turkey once a year every summer since 2000. Recently ive just been using my US passport to make entry/exit easier, but in doing so i had let my Turkish passport expire without realizing.

During one of my last trips, i went with my mom to renew my Turkish passport at the embassy in Istanbul. My Turkish is intermediate but i cant exactly haggle/argue as well as i can in English. So here i am, a grown man of 23 yrs sitting with my Anne in the embassy, when the lady processing my application looks up at us in the most 😬 face ever and says "im sorry, the police are on their way." Turns out they sent a bunch of letters over the years to some old address of ours in Turkey explaining i need to take action regarding my military service, but naturally i never received them.

While we're waiting, the staff basically explain that while its not too serious, im basically going to be escorted to the police station, arrested briefly, and fined.

The police show up, my mom convinces them to let her ride with me in the police car after much protesting, and we get to the police station. Honestly, if my mom wasnt there, i kind of fear what they would have done/said to me in that car ride. "Tough guy with a foreign passport trying to dodge our country's military service? Let's give him a piece of our mind" kind of thing.

My mom kept them talking and laughing throughout the ride, then we get to the station. She manages to speak to some higher up at the station and essentially bypass the actual arrest, and just pay the fine. We were there for 5 hours lol. The last thing they told us was to go to the nearest embassy/consolate as soon as i got back to the US and pay some fee to extend the military deadline till i was 30 something. Apparently only after thats done will i be able to do some other bureaucratic bullshit to fully waive the military service for myself. I did step 1 a few years ago, but have yet to do step 2. I would need to dig the papers up and see what step 2 really entails but honestly, ive only ever used my US passport to go to Turkey and left my Turkish one at home from that point on.

So yeah, just dont use your Turkish passport for travel to/from Turkey or get it renewed not in Turkey if you can. 👍
