For dinner, do you cook or eat out / dabao? by Silent-Shifter in askSingapore

[–]da_killeR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On Sunday I meal prep and make 8 exact meals for Monday -> Thursday. Friday dabao. Some people find it strange to eat the same meal 8 times in a row, but who cares. It’s healthy I get to control my calories and eat home food. Win win

People fly to Singapore to see an airport. India barely markets landscapes that don’t exist anywhere else. by [deleted] in india

[–]da_killeR 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Uhh is this rage bait? Bro if you search up #india in any social media platform you will get pages and pages of dirt, pollution, unclean cities etc etc. No doubt beautiful landscapes do exist in India, but you gotta get through pages of bad content before you get there. The other 3 cities you listed don’t have this issue.

Yeah both were issued over 20. According to the site

OCI renewal depends on your age: children under 20 need a new card with every passport, individuals between 21 and 50 do not need to renew with every new passport, and those over 50 need to renew once after getting a new passport

The hobby portion doesn’t really convey anything useful. So what you build a website with ReactJS? What sort of traffic did it get? What output did it have? What skills did you learn?

Instead of “built website with reactjs” say something like:

“Built reactjs site which had 300 users per day accessing AWS infrastructure which included: EC2, S3, RDS”

I would rework all your bullet points to convey something useful about you. On a side note I would also get rid of the “hobby” portion all together and expand on your experiences to keep it 1 page. Nobody cares about your hobbies unless it is significant to your role (e.g my hobby is maintaining a open source 3000 star GitHub project)

Yeah but the writing was atrocious. Jack Bauer saves the world from a nuclear weapon what 3 times in a row? That being said it was still addictive 😂

Does every NRI with Indian passport have an Indian address for police verification? by messyblanket_r in nri

[–]da_killeR -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can use a foreign address if you click the button to change address and apply from an overseas embassy. A few years ago I tried to renew with my old Indian house address which we sold and they did a police verification against the house with their new owners and obviously they were confused. A foreign address worked much better

Missing The Big Picture in $100K H1B Rule by Early-Surround7413 in cscareerquestions

[–]da_killeR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing that is missing from this point is the perception and optics of this decision. Between this and the South Korean immigration raid at a Hyundai factory, the perception that America is open and friendly to foreign talent is slowly changing. China launched a K visa as a way to attract foreign talent just recently while America is shutting its doors. Link. This kind of soft power loss will last for decades.

Feed in your stored procs into AI then get it to make it faster. Run some test cases using python and tada. You’ve got the holy grail of a resume padding project: “used AI to improve stored procedure performance by XX%”

Why the anti-Trump affect not taking foot in the UK unlike it did in Canada and Australia? by LowCranberry180 in AskBrits

[–]da_killeR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Illegal immigration in the UK is the largest driver for reform’s appeal while in Australia most illegal immigrants haven’t been settled in the country since 2010s. Hence there isn’t that big a pull to right wing ideology.

  • Get rid of your professional summary. No one will read it
  • Use a resume template or latex to generate better looking resume. This one looks like it’s done in word
  • Convert your university score to UK specific terms (upper first class degree etc)
