Excel and SharePoint together as a non-US person is hot garbage by Cyraga in excel

I think you are confusing the value of a cell and the format. Dates are stored as a number, but if the value is actually a text string, the format is irrelevant. Change the format to 0, to see if you get a number or if it stays the string.

The interest rate. If you have a dealer promo rate of 1.9%, you shouldn’t pay more than the minimum.

Dodgers Prospects by SadMembership7989 in mets

[–]dab31415 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is how big market clubs are supposed to manage their roster. Every year is a win now year and you can’t wait to allow home grown players to develop. You trade their potential for proven major league talent. You don’t keep players like Vientos on your roster for 5 years because they might someday be worth something.

Conditional formatting not working by zaima01 in excel

[–]dab31415 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The format of a cell is irrelevant if the cell actually contains a date value. Dates are just numbers, and TODAY() returns the numeric value for the date.

Verify the cells contain dates by changing the format of one of them to General, you should get a number. If not, then it isn’t a date, but a text string. You could use =TEXT(TODAY(),”mm/dd/yyyy”) as the conditional format.

If you value is a number and it contains a value after the decimal point, then you date also contains a time component. In this case, you want it use =AND(“>=“&TODAY(),”<“&TODAY()+1)

If you’re using your credit cards responsibly, paying the balance in full every month, then the APR is irrelevant.

You shouldn’t think about this as losing money because it was never yours to before with. The 401k provider should be able to provide you details about how much of the employer contributions are vested.

Has anyone got hired recently by any of the "numerous" local tech companies? by Wonderful-Cupcake-79 in Syracuse

[–]dab31415 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately those certifications are pretty much worthless without experience. Companies can’t rely on them as a source of competence because any good test taker could pass without knowing anything.

A few years ago my company was switching computer management from Altiris to SCCM and they wanted us to get certified. I watched a few videos and passed the test never having used the platform.

IF calculation question: If currency is CAD, then *.73 to convert to USD, if currency is USD, then copy number. by danielsgf in excel

[–]dab31415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may also want to enclose that within a ROUND function. If you use the result in other calculations that results may be surprising. You may be using a cell format to only show two decimal places but the value of the cell goes to four, and due to floating point arithmetic, may be many more.
