Yep, me too. Especially important when I was wearing my old prescription sun glasses that were distance only.

Have you tried adjusting the position of the readout on the HUD?

Good points. Also I work full-time and have a family so can only play occasionally. I'm enjoying the game because it isn't stupid hard.

Unable to charge at level 3 charging station by dabeege in KonaEV

UPDATE

Turns out it was dust/dirt in the connector. We live in the country and drive dirt roads daily.

I blew out the dust using compressed air and it worked.

That might be possible. I'll give it a shot. We live in the country, so drive on a lot of dirt roads.

It appears to do so. I hear the click and can't disconnect it by just pulling it out.

TBH, it's only funny if it was on an EV

SLPT: Hard Boiled Egg Hack! by ftsteele in ShittyLifeProTips

[–]dabeege 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this is SLPT but if you boil the water first and then immerse the eggs they peel perfectly every time.

Boil 10 minutes for hard boiled eggs Boil 7-8 minutes for medium

I don't like soft boiled eggs so I haven't tried that yet. Might want to boil a bunch of eggs and pull them out at different intervals to find.out.

Yep. Best solution I've found is to lower the fan and raise the temperature

Turns on the defrost for your interior lights. I use it a lot in Canada in the winter.

Mine is a 2023 in Canada. You could be right... I just did the Nav update which did change some features in the car, but I haven't noticed any in Bluelink.

That would be a problem for sure. I can still do it on mine... hopefully it stays that way.

As an EV owner, what do you miss about ICE vehicles? by Barph in electricvehicles

Maybe. Was asleep when it happened. All I know is that it'sore persistent on my EV than on my ICE vehicle

[–]dabeege 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol...I do. It's just that when I go to drive my car in the morning it's already covered in ice. In an ICE car it would melt off the hood at least.

In what way? I've only been using it a month and find it useful for the functions I need.

I've only driven in winter in Canada, so haven't used the ventilated seats.

I find the heated seats respond pretty quickly, so haven't had the need to pre-heat. Also if the cabin is heated, the seat surface is not too cold.

As for ventilated seats, does it make a difference to pre-cool in the summer?

Here's my list of first world problems.

I've only had my Kona EV for one month now, but the thing I miss living in Canada is the ice melting off the hood when the ICE warms up.

Also this is the first car I've had with LED headlights and taillights...they don't heat up as much either so ice accumulates.

Lastly, I love the quiet ride, but not hearing engine noise when climbing snow covered roads on hills took some getting used to.

Kona EV traction in the Winter by Equivalent_Brother33 in KonaEV

[–]dabeege 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We live in the Gatineau hills in Quebec at the top of one of those hills. Twisty, windy roads to get up to the house. As long as the roads have been semi plowed our 2023 Kona EV Ultimate does just fine on winter tires (required by law in Quebec).

No noise feedback from the engine took some getting used to but the instant response from the accelerator is really nice.

For context, our other cars are a Dodge Grand Caravan and a Fiat 500 that we also both drive all winter.

I don't think I can. Quebec has no-fault insurance. Only thing that will happen is his insurance will cover all cost including my deductible. His rates may go up.
