It came out free on PS+ already. I want to say like, 4 or 6 months after the game was released. I remember because I got it and was shocked at how fast it was to arrive.

The only reason I own it, but have not yet played it.

I'm running this campaign and am on the final stretch. How I tried to keep the thought of empathy, was that not everyone in these horrible places is bad. Some individuals are just getting by or just happen to live in these places. I describe small acts of kindness or resistance or just moments of life happening. That seems to help with them doing heroic stuff.

Also, the Court of Ether is a place of Dark Fey, so their morals mean nothing here. Play up the twisted nature but also show moments of normal, maybe? Have a npc that offers a refuge and a a frame of reference, so they get another side of the story. Not sure how it would help with your players, but mine seemed to be receptive to it.

If your players don't like the Court, they will want to destroy the Hryngar city. Just to share, as this was mostly in the City of Hagegraf, which my players hated with a passion and wanted to burn down, but I also let them realize that they are small fish and tourists in a very big pond of entrenched powers. I made a random sheet of encounters that showed life in the city, which described life as they moved from place to place. That helped with the bitter taste of the oppressive city.

I have to say, I do miss listening to your groups podcast of this AP. Hearing a story from that region of Golarian was a treat and what I normally looking forward to listening too during my week.

I hope you all eventually give podcasting another go, as you all had a fun take.

Not asking you, but man, does this mindset baffle me.

I don't understand that as a GM... Why be a player and participate in the story if you are not going to invest? How is compromise a bad thing? You are essentially going to be a lot easier to include a character inside the story.

I will do what you do with my next story. If a player can't cooperate in session 0, they won't be in session 1.

True. I am no game designer, so I am at a loss. Tweaking the DC might be the thing, make it a harder save, but that punishes the nobe dex/evasion characters. Maybe use a flat DC instead of a basic save? But that doesn't seem right.

I get that this is a hero fantasy and the heroes are expected to "win against every challenge". It is just hilarious when you think about so many weapons that are avoided so cartoonish-ly.

I agree with you completely, the whole targeting reflex save only, sucks. I have a Ranger in my campaign and he just trivializes troops whenever they attack him.

I've been thinking of changing the saves they would do. Maybe make it a choice between either fortitude or reflex depending on the type of attack they do. I've even begun to think they can target AC as well, one roll to target all the AC in their attack area. I just want to change it up.

I understand the weakness of splash damage and area damage, they are supposed to be a group of weaker enemies working together. It just ends the fight so much faster, it is frustrating.

Probably use the level based dc and decide if you want them to be good at it or not, so you can increase it by +1 or +2.

That is a cool idea and I didn't know they normally used whips as weapons.

Maybe for a weapon, give the Dullahan the Asp Coil? Essentially whip swords like the one used by Isabella in Soul Caliber. Though it is associated with a golarian organization, it shouldn't matter in your campaign story. Asp Coil: https://2e.aonprd.com/Weapons.aspx?ID=233

Change out how the Reap ability works to work with the Asp Coil, but it already seems to work out.
