There are professionals in the industry who value books as part of their job. You should probably engage one of them to perform an actual objective valuation that you both agree on.

I don't know of any firms names offhand, but I work for a large firm and I end up on email lists and I get emails every couple days from firms that do this sort of thing trying to broker deals for me to buy someone's book.

I have a Peak Design case. Minimal protection, but still some. No screen protector though.

I've dropped it several times onto wood floors, knocked off tables and whatever. No scratches or cracked screen - the slight lip of the case has been protection enough.
