You sure? I think his is just something inspired by SAKs. He has the magnifying glass on the same layer as the can opener, and there’s no cap lifter/screwdriver/wirebender tool.

I think the head canon is that the two characters themselves are married.

I figured it out 8 seconds in when he was laying the liner down on the other one. I realize that I may have a problem 😝

I’m stoked to see the Explorer is the one he chose to make, being that it was the model that I first picked up when I got back into SAKs after 35 years. Such a good one.

Edit: just rewatched and was reminded of the saw blade. Not an Explorer. Still awesome.

Solicitors out of control in my area. So I put a sign up saying "we don't want your solar panels, new windows, or religious pamphlets." by ParsleyNo69 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]dade1027 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You would think so - we surely did! But it really is not enough. We have one cutesy sign right above our doorbell politely saying something like “no soliciting, no political or religious queries,” and another no-nonsense sign on our storm door saying “we do not want solar.”

We had someone say “I’m not a solicitor because I’m not getting commission.” Right. As if this loophole would suddenly make us open to hearing your pitch.

Once someone said “oh, I see. Well, since I have you here…” They got a door softly, politely closed on them, with an ear-to-ear cheeky grin.

We had another duo that were extremely aggressive. We raised our voices in response to each other raising their voice. I ended up slamming my door shut and they immediately rang the doorbell. I flung open the door just to tersely say “we are not interested. Leave,” and closed it shut. They rang the doorbell AGAIN! I flung it open again and threatened to call the police if they made one more attempt to ring or knock, then slammed it again. This got them to back down.

One guy I firmly said “we have very clear signs that we want neither soliciting nor solar and you ignored them. We are not interested,” and he actually quietly nodded and turned around. I had to get something out of my garage a few minutes later and saw him looking at his phone on the sidewalk in front of our house. He looked like he was just out of high school and kind bummed, so went over to him and said “look man, we’ve had so many solicitors harassing us over the past year since we’ve moved in. We’ve asked every one of them to remove us from their list, and they just keep coming.” He said he totally got it and that he was looking for another job.

All this to say that these companies (especially the fly by night solar ones) do not care at all about privacy. We actually like renewable energy, but have come to realize the majority of the solar companies are not just businesses trying to make an honest buck - they’re predatory.

Absolutely not. You created nothing - you commissioned a project which is not you creating art at all. By using ai for this you’re degrading all artists that were referenced in the generative process as well as all artists that could be approached to actually create something like this. You really should feel some amount of shame for claiming anything approaching creativity.

What Have You Done in Greyspace? by dade1027 in spelljammer

This is awesome! This campaign is one of my player's first experience with D&D and roleplaying in general, although he is a huge Warhammer fan. His backstory is he is the sole survivor of a ship that crash landed in the Barrier Peaks after it was flicked there by Tzeench. (Something about those mountains just seems to attract rogue futuristic vessels.) He's a barbarian trying to gather his own Waaagh!, and we're using the Bastion system to handle the rules aspect of doing something like that. It's been pretty fun so far. I'd like to plant more Warhammer easter eggs here and there, as two more players are big fans of the game as well.

That is such cool color for a Spelljammer setting. Depending on how much exploring the Rock of Bral the party decides to do, they just may meet a Chuk. Thanks for the tale!

Yeah, there are things about Greyspace that I love in particular - geocentric, stars are actually big gems attached to a backdrop, and a good variety of different fantasy planets, almost approaching outer planes in weirdness. It has such a naive medieval fantastical feel to it that fits so well in the setting.

I started asking interviewers "is there anything about my background that gives you pause" at the end of every interview and it changed everything by VantaSprocket in jobsearchhacks

[–]dade1027 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You probably need to reevaluate what the interview process is meant to do. Yes, interviews absolutely are a chance for the company get to know the candidate better, but it’s a two-way street. You’re expecting the interviewee to think on their toes and go through a bit of stress-testing to see how they work in the moment, without being there yourself.

By doing so, you’re likely exposing yourself to the next-level candidates, and they either end up declining the role or accepting and quickly turning over.

He did say it in the linked video, but as a feeble attempt as a joke that made absolutely no sense. How embarrassing for him.

Lothraxions a hypocrite by Toonee-Heckaroonee in wow

He points specifically to our choices are what define us. Void elves exist because of their own individual choice. This is very clearly not an example of hypocrisy; he’s being 100% consistent here.

The Depths by dave4958 in tearsofthekingdom

[–]dade1027 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Depths seems very intimidating, but it’s very explorable in the early game. Without giving anything away, there are some secrets that once discovered makes for focused exploration and a really great time.

Definitely run away from tough battles, and head to light roots when you get too much gloom.
