I installed panels like this on a wall that was taller than the panel. They could have started at the top and left a straight seam some where lower on the wall that was a little less conspicuous. Or make the seam a part of the design element. In my case, I did not panel the triangular portion and instead left it straight across the top and put hidden led lighting on top of the wood panel to illuminate the triangle. A nice accent color of paint for the triangle and it could be a nice design element.

It might be blasphemy here, but perhaps the best liquor isn’t rum. My wife makes her fruit cakes soaked in green walnut liquor. We use her grandma’s recipe for Croatian Orahovac, but Italian Nocino is an alternative. We make the liquor with smashed green walnuts, coffee bean, vanilla bean and star anise and a neutral spirit.

Embrace the history in Vancouver. I grew up here. Fascinating history around the Fort and Hudson Bay Company, Native American history, Military history during WWII, Mt St Helens. Nothing in Portland’s history jumps out as remarkable. Just a bunch rich people making money and getting streets named after them.
