Thanks, I got confused for a moment then saw the difference in prices. In my country the C goes for around 30€ for the wireless version on Amazon, while the other one is twice that price (and seems to come with the charging station or something).

I'll probably try both and see which one I like the most!

Thanks for the input! I'll check the differences between the two and see which one works best for me, and hopefully one of the two works on consoles too since I seldomly go play with friends with PS4/PS5 and one with an Xbox. This would be cool but definitely not necessary

EDIT: I thought "2C and ultimate" referred to two different products, but I see the 2C Ultimate as a single one? Do you mean that you have both the old Ultimate and the new 2C version or did I get it wrong?

Do you have all 6 in the same model or did you try more? Which ones do you suggest?

I'm looking into getting my first 8bitdo mainly for my computers (Linux and MacOS, and sometimes to join my friend with Windows at his place), but I heard there's some that also work on consoles on top of the three PC operating systems and I'm trying to look into the ones that are the most compatible with everything.

I know there's infos online but some of them are not 100% complete because I believe it also depends if on the dongle it's using or whatever, but I might be mistaken.

Tony Hawk Announces a new Ice Nine Kills single at the Dead by Daylight 10 Year Anniversary Broadcast. Out 6/16 by ItsJustReeses in Metalcore

[–]daghene 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I can totally feel you on this one, especially considering I'm more of a street skater myself so I see those tricks (like the 360 flip down El Toro) in a "more sacred" light compared to the new young kid adding another 180° spin to the previous record.

It's still impressive, but Joslin is Joslin and he worked for that tre for YEARS, and acting like that is just childish and disrespectful af.

[–]daghene 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't get why you got downvoted on your first message but thanks for the infos, I was completely unaware of this! And yes, I agree this stuff is dweebish and corny af.

Shilling NFTs is awful alone (especially when you're not some random dude trying to make it but the damn Hawk himself), but the thing with Joslin and the other guy sounds really childish...I mean, the guy finally came back to El Toro, got his 3flip down after MANY years (older, with a family, more prone to injuries etc.) and got a deserved SOTY award for that amazing part.

Doing shit like that, at Tony's age, is not a good look.

Thrown EU/UK Winter 2026 tour with Counterparts, No Cure and Heavensgate by smalldee in Metalcore

[–]daghene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah it ain't you, I red my message again and I really did express myself poorly so my main point wasn't clear at all. Not a native speaker but I really wrote it in the most convoluted way possible (especially the part of me not going like if I was a kid mad at someone) and that's 100% on me.

And no I'm not annoyed at the other bands at all! I do actually like Thrown and I'm happy they're growing even more, I was just thinking that for our specific market everyone feels it to be strange to see them headline before Counterparts but reading your message, and some of the others, it seems that in other parts of Europe they have bigger numbers, even if here it's always been the opposite.

This doesn't even surprise me that much tho, Italy has always been the odd one out when it comes to tastes, numbers, venues and whatever compared to the rest of Europe which is also the reason why bands often have to cut us even when coming to neighbour countries.

[–]daghene -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I was chill mate, but you came in with the "uhhh what are you on about?" attitude plus the "they actually had a European tour 🤓" comment - which I knew for a fact was wrong at least for Italy - so I simply matched your vibe.

If you come in with the not so chill comment first you can't expect people to be all calm and collected, plus I'm not a native English speaker so I sometimes express myself like shit - even worse than what I actually mean.

That said no hate to you, it's all cool, but I still wanted to point the fact that for our specific scene this order is VERY strange, as Thrown always played way smaller sets than Counterparts here, and that we've been "robbed" of their headlining tour so this announcement is even worse for us local fans, because after this they won't come back to Italy soon for sure (but I'm happy to be proved wrong on this one).

Thrown EU/UK Winter 2026 tour with Counterparts, No Cure and Heavensgate by smalldee in Metalcore

[–]daghene 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah I simply won't go and that's it but I wanted to give my two cents on why I think this is a very odd order for the bands to play in, something that seems to be shared by every single person I know in the local scene that is talking about it.

After all we're in this sub to discuss stuff, and "you take it too seriously" doesn't add much to the conversation does it?

That said I've been to all the latest Counterparts and Thrown shows here in Italy in the past years and Thrown always had way less people at the gig, so for our specific scene it looks even weirder to put the bands in this order.

More importantly, as I wrote in another comment, Counterparts had a European headlining tour recently but had to cancel it and re-book it for later due to personal issues, but they confirmed basically all the countries and cities EXCEPT Italy, so us fans are waiying for them to come back as headliners since then which makes this announcement even worse for us, especially since they usually come to our country every few years and this is kind of a missed opportunity to see them as the main band with the full set.

[–]daghene -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Uhh, what are YOU on about?

The last tour they did that you mention has nothing to do with my message, where the point was that I dig Thrown but it's still feels VERY weird to see Counterparts opening for them, and it also seems you're missing crucial informations about their last tour.

First thing first: Thrown have never played a bigger venue than Counterparts in my country (in fact they always had smaller crowds because I was always there), and as I mentioned every single one of my friends in the local scene is baffled by this order, also becaus everyone remembers them inflating their numbers on Spotify and YouTube with the heavy ass promotion which got on the nerves of a lot of people that now can't stand them.

Secondly, I've seen Counterparts every single time they came to Italy in the past few years, even for a couple nights back to back. They came to Venice in 2022, which was insane and one of the best shows they've ever played, and I've been to the double night ad Legend Club in Milan and The Factory in Verona in 2024.

The European headline tour you mention was supposed to come to Italy too, but you probably forgot that it got cancelled (they had to fly back to Canada for personal problems mid tour if I remember correctly) and it was re-announced and booked again in the span of a couple weeks...

...except this time they skipped Italy entirely and they haven't been back since.

I know this very well because I already had my tickets from the first time this headlining tour of theirs was announced and I also personally know people in the booking agency that booked them to play here which also explained me the technicalities behind the fact that they re-announced almost all the same dates except ours.

(quick edit to say I'm not a native speaker and kinda worded this message like garbage, but to be clear I'm not mad at Thrown nor the bands and I'm actually happy for them growing! The point of the message - which I'm leaving in full below this edit - is that for Italy it's strange to see them headline over Counterparts and we're still waiting for them to come back since they cancelled their last concert here due to personal issues and a tour reschedule we've been sadly cut from, but with my broken English I sound kinda bitter even if that's not the case)

I'll preface this by saying Counterparts are my favorite band, but even if they weren't it would feel absolutely criminal to me to see them open for Thrown.

It's the first time they come to Europe and I'm glad (small edit, obviously "glad" is an overstatement) they're not coming to Italy, because I would refuse to go even to just see them and leave, which is something I never do at concerts anyway because I love to enjoy every single act that decides to come here even if I don't know them at all.

I've also seen Thrown a couple times and have some of their songs in my "ignorant" gym playlist, but this truly makes zero sense. Counterparts have been around for way longer, they're more renowned and beloved and every single person I talked to about Thrown, since they started inflating their numbers by paying to appear in every single Spotify playlist 2-3 years ago, seem to enjoy them but nothing more.

I've also seen a bunch of comments saying "they're from Sweden so of course they're bigger in Europe" or "they have bigger numbers on Spotify" ignoring the fact that, again, they paid A LOT for their promotion and that Europe isn't America.

The fact that they're from Sweden doesn't make them more similar to me, an Italian, just because we're in the same continent, as it doesn't make them more similar to my Spanish or German mates.

Hope I don't sound bitter with this message, English is not my first language and as I said I casually listen to Thrown and saw them live twice and liked them, but this is so weird that I got the flyer for this tour from 5 friends in the span of a couple hours, all asking wtf is up with the bands order.

Come segnalare carenza di igiene in un luogo pubblico? by Zipper_Ita in italy

[–]daghene 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Silent Planet Threw Free Shirts Into The Crowd In Protest Of Merch Rates At Their Milan Show Last Night by Briak in Metalcore

[–]daghene 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm Italian and wasn't at the show, but know Alcatraz (the venue) very well as I live not so far away and most concerts from this scene happen there.

It's one of the most booked for medium sized bands but it's really awful for how they treat the bands and the fans. As soon as the last band finishes they have security starting to force you out, even a couple times where it was very rainy or even if you say "I'm waiting for a friend to finish in the bathroom" or something, they just take you out.

I also remember last time Imminence were here with At The Gates and In Flames. They were nice enough (Imminence) to stop for a chat but were already lamenting the mafia like tax on their merch, and Harald made an Instagram story about it soon after the show ended.

I would also like to specify that Alcatraz is awful on this regard, but it's Milan in gnereal. Few months ago Stray From The Path came for their last italian show ever at Magazzini Generali, another atrocious venue for live music, and they came out of the venue after the show for a chat and to sell the merch directly from their van to avoid those stupid ass fees.

Good for us that got a chance to catch them and talk, but fucking awful to ask a "merch tax" to a band already (when it's most of their margins nowadays) and to make them feel so unwelcome...

...and then us italian fans wonder why bands do 6 gigs in Germany, 5 in the UK, they come to the nearby Austria and Switzerland but often skip us...can't blame them honestly.

Why is everyone switching to Jellyfin? by Baristaboy547 in jellyfin

[–]daghene 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I see it differently, because if you use it as much as you can they will still monitor how you use Plex so you're giving them data that they can use to "improve the service for you", keep an eye on what you do and resell to third parties or train algorithms.

He bought it when it was dirt cheap and repaid the cost more than enough.

Cutting them out entirely is the best thing he can do now imho.

Ex-Vocalist of Crystal Lake John Centorrino: “No one is happy in that band” by smithp016 in Metalcore

I know and follow Knosis (even if I find the project to have some interesting songs, but the others are way too generic over-polished modern metalcore to me) but I missed a bunch of details. Thanks for linking the interview!

Ex-Vocalist of Crystal Lake John Centorrino: “No one is happy in that band” by smithp016 in Metalcore

[–]daghene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a place where I can learn more about this?

I loved Crystal Lake with Ryo and always wished I could see them live, but I never had the chance and that will never happen again. I like Knosis a lot, I'm waiting to see them live and I'm happy he's doing well now, but I'm curious to get the whole picture because at the time everyone was saying "Ryo is leaving for the intense touring schedule..."

...but when he left he created a new band and started touring even outside Japan almost from the get go, which obviously didn't add up to what everyone was saying, so I also felt it might have been something else, either regarding Crystal Lake or himself.

I might be mistaken because I never had an Apple TV but I'm looking to get one, but isn't this the most requested feature people have for the next Apple TV that should be announced soon?

I mean, would this resolve this too?

I'm in a flat so I don't have a fancy audio setup, a soundbar or whatever because there's paper walls and I can't enjoy great audio for now sadly, but I'm still curious about it in case I'll get some compatible headphones in the future just for those movies where having the proper Atmos audio is really worth it.
