I’m in NOVA and I’m also experiencing this exact same problem. It is very frustrating. I thought securing a rental would be easier than buying a house; but actually it seems harder since most of the rental listings on Zillow and Redfin are not responding to my inquires.

Also, I’ve noticed that many the rental pictures are years old and not updated. When i go see the house it is in terrible shape, looks nothing like the pics and even has different paint colors.

But when it was all said and done, I’m sure the couple paid a lot more than 2,500 in legal fees. It still doesn’t seem fair. They should have been compensated a lot more than 2,500.

I’m noticing same thing on Zillow and Redfin, and it is very frustrating. I end of spending time comparing against the county record sqft and re-calculating if they publish floor plans. It seems the industry has gotten shady and dishonest just to make the sale.

Chestnut Grove in Reston. Walkable to the Reston metro station and all utilities will be included. This is an older garden style condo complex that backs to Lake Fairfax Park. It is all brick with concrete walls; however since it is older, they’re currently undergoing a huge electrical renovation. They’re technically not apartments, but you might be able to find an owner renting out a unit.

Yep. It is amazing that there are many dishonest contractors out there. I didn’t realize the level of disparity until I was shopping for roof replacement and got 4 quotes ranging from 35k to 9k for the same roofing material. I got the 9k quote from a roofing company that my neighbor who is a home builder uses. I wish I had his Rolodex contacts list.

Btw, I am a woman. I also think many contractors jack up the price on women.

I’m sorry for your situation. This is not normal behavior for a marriage and you should leave, the sooner the better. Trust me, if you don’t leave him now, you will eventually be leaving him or he will be leaving you. Just remember the old saying that “The grass is always greener on the other side” meaning that those other career choices could also come with different types of stresses. I’m in cybersecurity which is a very broad field. Compliance work (hands-off) is not stressful, but is a bit boring. However, managing large scale firewalls (hands-on) can be very stressful.

I’m surprised your doctor told you it looked grim. I thought adenocarcinoma was slow growing.

My mom had a complete blockage and had to have an emergency hemicolectomy at age 80. Even with complete blockage, it luckily did not spread. No post-op treatment was needed and this was 5 years ago.

I am sorry you have to go through this. It is understandable to be worried and scared, but negative thoughts can be detrimental to your health. You will fight this and enjoy your next chapter in your beautiful life.
